Doing it wrong on EBay

Evidently our UK folks have a similar sense of humor. On the relisting, the E-Bay text says it ships to UK...So they are asking....Q&A at the listing:
Q: I notice that you're not accepting bids from English bidders and quite right too - awful people. Can you tell me how much it would cost to ship to Wales? And, does it come with the original toolkit? Dec-19-12
A: Taffy, obviously you seem to have the same disdain for English people as I hae. That being said, you seem to be as dumb as the ones asking questions on this item. Here is me thinkng that Welsh people were more intelligent than your average English Yobbo, then you come along and blow that theory out of the water. Stay away from the sheep..... What do you think this statement means, it is clearly written into the advert, or can you only comprehend pictures...."BUYER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ARRANGING THE SHIPPING, IF NECESSARY, AND ALL OF THE ASSOCIATED COSTS OF SHIPPING THE VEHICLE." I have no idea of cost of shipping the item anywhere, and believe me I have absolutely no interest in the cost, I am not paying for it, will not be charging the buyer for it, so absolute no interest. Be wary of the sheep!!!!!!!

Q: Hi, is it a left hand drive model, or a right hand drive? (For use in the UK) Dec-19-12
A: Obviously you have problems reading and understanding the written word, I have already posted a similar response from a village idiot like you. I would suggest that you go and sue your English teacher, because you ahve failed miserably. It doesn`t matter if it is left hand drive, right hand drive or right down the middle drive the bike is NOT available for sale to UK based bidders. So waste your time all you want, because it shows other Ebay users just how dumb some English people can be. Thanks for your disingenuous interest.

Q: Can you ship to Eire (that's not in the UK)? I can pick it up from there; especially if it has its original tool kit. Dec-19-12
A: No, English bidder, not accepting bids from English based bidders.

Q: Before I bid, is the bike a UK spec? Dec-19-12
A: Gavin, read the advert, which clearly states..."NO INTERNATIONAL SALES UNLESS BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT" So there will be no bids accepted from English based bidders. Unfortunately the bike rides on the opposite side of the road from the Limeys, what may help is the numbers on the instruments are in English, as is all the factory fitted badges and warning labels. Thanks for you disingenuous interest.

Q: How much is shipping to the UK please? Dec-19-12
A: Numbnuts, if you can read, look at the advert it clearly states that shipping is for the buyer to arrange. I have typed this out slow because I can see that you obviously have learning difficulties. If you read the advert you will see that there is no international shipping unless previously agreed.

Q: You should modify the auction to change the "ships to" bi. It says- United States, United Kingdom, Australia Dec-18-12
A: My auction, do not have to change anything, looks like an Ebay glitch. I have made it abundantly clear in my description, "NO INTERNATIONAL SALES UNLESS BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT" Take it up with Ebay, their goof up.

Q: Hi my name is John ilive in England can you post close up of pic,s of the wheel rims engine and tank and do you or can you arrange shipping to somerset England cheers John Dec-18-12
A: Bike is not available for sale to UK. Thanks for your interest.

Q: Does it have the original toolkit and owner's handbook with it? Dec-18-12
A: Bike is not available for sale to UK, so it doesn`t really matter what it comes with. Thanks for your interest.

I was going to ask him if I would be banned from bidding because I'm Welsh but, I though, why bother as I have no intention of buying (I'm not even a fan of CB750's, cheaply modified CB550 is a much better bike)

My favorite is the question on whether it is left hand drive or right hand drive....I lol'ed

Aww dang, I live right down the road from this guy (Fort Walton Beach, FL). Well, maybe one day he will lower the price to a resonable amount and I can snatch it up. I could use a SOHC to match my DOHC.

He can't resist the bold red lettered statements!!! "THERE WILL BE NO BIDS ACCEPTED FROM UK BASED BIDDERS, GIVEN THE FOUL LANGUAGE RECEIVED FROM THAT AREA!!! "

Notice that now that he started the price low he's actually getting bids for a reasonable price, rather than starting high and getting nothing. Even with all the spam comments and laughter, he's getting more genuine bidders now than ever. Doubt he realizes that though.

Still say its a good price.
Hell in NYc there is room to buy it, wait till spring and make a few bucks!

Hope that everyone "keeping track" of him has posted all over the web and he finds a buyer.

The hate is a bit much really.
Maybe we should turn our eyes to the $5k "custom" cb350s that are little more then spray bombed and a poorly fitting seat.
Guy wants $5500 for a clean bike. So what?
Think you can take a rusted barn find and $4k and make the bike that nice? Not if you are paying someone to do the work, and probably not if you were doing all the work anyway.
So all stock bikes should only be $1500?

Just kinda missing the point here

Guy had a funny listing to attract some attention and it worked. Now clowns don't jet the joke and are still carrying on.

It's a bike
It's for sale
It's listed at a fair market value

You think it's crazy town pricing? Cool story, don't buy it and if it is to high neither will anyone else. You want to buy it? Make the guy an offer.

I think fella's are a little more upset about how rude he has responded to people in the past, however I believe it got pushed a little far out of proportion when people started antagonizing him. For where I live, 5500 is too much for a bike like that but to each his own.

Has nothing to do with price...it's because the guy is a prick...who responds to ppl like this...

Q: I have a couple of questions. How are the tires? Are there any electrical issues (turn signals, lights, etc. work fine?). Also have the carbs been cleaned or rebuilt lately? Thanks. Dec-21-12
A: If you read the advert, you will see all of the answers to your questions. In particular the fourth paragraph and I quote "The bike starts and runs like a top, and will start from the kickstart with no problem. I have run the bike around the area and there are absolutely no issues with the bike." To answer your questions again, the tires are in good condition, no issues. As i said in the advert, I have run the bike around the area, and believe me I will not place my life in danger riding a two wheeled vehicle with tire problems. There are absolutely no issues with the bike, as stated in the advert. Had there been a problem with the electrics, I would not have stated "there are no issues with the bike". Everything electrically works the way it should work. With regards to the carbs being cleaned or rebuilt recently. Again I will refer you to the statement "The bike starts and runs like a top, and will start from the kickstart with no problem. I have run the bike around the area and there are absolutely no issues with the bike." So why would the carbs need cleaning or rebuilding. This is something that is done when there are engine performance issues. There is no symptoms of engine running problems,

I don't see what's wrong with asking about the carbs...it's a 30 year old bike and ppl lie on ebay. Running like a top...maybe maybe not...he is turning ppl off due to his rudeness.

Now I agree it went to far but if someone is going to be a dick then I have no issue with ppl giving him a hard time. Bike is pricey for my area too...but maybe not in Florida. He is just looking for ppl to harass him tho!

The bike IS definitely too pricey for Florida and anywhere else. And I also agree, he's a dick. No matter which way you slice it, he's an ass!

I'd say you got 2 out of 3 right there. If the price was fair market value it would have sold one of the 3 other times it had been posted. The real joke is how much of an ass the guy is to everybody though.

I know how it can be frustrating answering the same questions over again.
You can normally tell how serious someone is by the qyestions. Some people ask stupid things and its clear they didn't read or understand the listing. Doesn't matter if you are a dick to them as they never really intended to buy. Sure you run the risk of being wrong and scaring off the real buyer, but chances are low.
Everyone knows bikes are cheaper in the winter and nothing sells near Christmas.
Not at all uncommon to have to list something more then once when asking full blown retail.
Often it's a matter of waiting for lightning to strike.
People only move fast on bargins.
