DTT Photo Scavenger Hunt, Interactive Play Along,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heh, well I guess, but that wouldn't make for a very long ride ;)

Guess my nerd is showing =0P There are entire conventions and fairs revolving around cosplay.... It's not necessarily superheros.... could be steampunk, video game characters, renaissance attire, etc.

Examples: http://www.reddit.com/r/cosplay (occasionally NSFW, but usually OK)

I'm gathering this mark is too much of a niche....should I change it?

Hell no!
Somebody with some imagination should be able to come up with something.
I can't get out until the weekend, but if it's still around... ;)

Not me at all. I just took the picture. They were passing by on my way...somewhere...and yes, the squire had the correct rhythm on the coconuts. The guy in the Lancelot costume would raise his face shield whenever he talked to people as well.

Damn. And this past weekend my wife and I hosted a stag and doe for a couple of friends (my daughter's Godparents) that was "Heroes vs Villains" themed. So much Cosplay it was scary.

OK, I don't want to kill the momentum here. We'll do something a bit more ubiquitous.

Mark is: Sign for a bowling alley. Pretty sure almost every town in the USA has one of those... sorry international folks ;)

Yeah I know... I felt bad though cuz the thread was really active for a bit and I felt like I killed it. Anyway... Onward.... Glenn got the bowling alley. Next?

Could we have something a little less US-centric next? Us foreigners are feeling somewhat left out!

Sooooo... We're not holding to the rules anymore? A mark was supposed to run for a week before it was retired. I thought that was to give people a chance to tag them. Personally, during the week I'm either working 14 hour days or sleeping. My only riding time is in the weekends.

Redbird, I have modified the original rule #7 to include an exception to the rule>>
  • 7. ALL MARKS WILL RECEIVE A 7 DAY TIME LIMIT. If you call for a mark and it is not found within this time period, you will then need to call for another (preferably easier) mark. "Marks can and may be changed at any point by the mark caller if deemed to be un-obtainable by the general population" "
Now if a mark is deemed to hard or to specific, it can be changed before the 7 day limit.........

However, for example the cosplay mark, was not too difficult for me to get within the timeframe allowed. In fact, I stated that I could get the mark if it ran through it's expiration.

And since we're just changing rules to suit the needs at hand... can I now post a pic of my bike with a handmade paper "curvy road ahead" sign? I mean, I live in the land of Flat and Straight. This mark is unobtainable by me so I think I should be allowed to do that.

Sorry for causing issues guys. I had just gotten a vibe like "WTF is that" so I felt obligated to not let it stagnate in the interest of people who wanted to participate... I know mine was going to limit it to people in metro areas where that subculture exists. If Glenn is agreeable, I'd still like to see Redbirds mark... I must have missed the post where he said he could get it this weekend.

/back to the real thread...

Looks like I opened a can of worms. Well it's water under the bridge..........New marks have been called and met since "Cosplay". No goin back now. Let's let the game continue...

Honestly I think you should just let it ride and if it expires then choose another. SO WHAT! Part of the fun is getting the mark NOT playing to the crowd. If the mark cannot be found then don't take it to heart just find another. Maybe people need to try harder and you might be surprised what people can come up with.

I think that the recent run of getting marks one right after the other is no reason to choose EASY marks, maybe that is why they are going quickly. I live out in the middle of no where and most of the IN TOWN marks require a 30 minute ride for me just to get to them. I also work 8-10 hours a day and riding my bike to work is no option since my work vehicle lives in my driveway. Maybe MORE than ONE person saying OK mark is GOOD is better for the group.

Sully, I think the WTF was due to people just not knowing what it is, better explanation next time and that tends to go away, not everyone is a geek around here. ;) ;D
