I have been scouring this website for quite a while and decided to make myself a build thread. I picked myself up a couple of. Honda 750s. A 1980 with title, and an 82 without. Going to tear the 80 apart and build myself something sweet, definitely a very clean cafe racer with some modern leds and such.
Painting is nearly done, going to clearcoat Sunday. Then sync the carbs this week, new tires and turn signals, and an upholstered sear and we should be in ridable business!
Let us know how it goes. I've just started a 80 CB750C. I might be hitting you up for where to get some parts.

I will post up some pictures after I get home from class and to a computer rather than a cellphone. Actuner, they're complete bikes and I'm planning on basically stripping one down as a very naked cafe so I should have a plethora of extra parts.for you to rummage through.
Going to start stripping them tonight. Basically I'm going to tear both bikes down to rolling frames, and use the titled frame with whichever engine is in better condition and lower miles. (17k vs 34k) Definitely going to do a topend rebuild.
I bought a few plastic bins, ziplocs for the bolts and nuts, and saved a lot of coffee cans so I can be somewhat organized in to what all the parts are. Not to mention gorilla racks to hold the soon-to--be plethora of parts.
Yeah a buddy's '64. He did have it parked on campus, but someone got in the back seat, was smoking or something, and lit the seat on fire. Needless to say, he doesn't trust campus parking anymore. My baby is in the shed, '64 1\2 Stang.
I'm leaning on staying with the 1980's tank as it already has knee indents. The other one is actually quite wide. More pictures tonight. I'm planning on making a really clean look like all of carpe's cb750s.
Gotta love the New Mexico sun! Lack of moisture caused nothing but only a little surface rust on some parts, but the UV rays and sand destroyed anything plastic or rubber. Those rubber intake boots for the carbs are hard as steel! It feels like the carbs are bracketed in. Going to hit it hard tonight to get those off. I need to replace that wiring harness, thats shot too. Look at a connector wrong and it disintegrates!
Haven't really had a chance to touch them lately, major cold front hitting Southern NM and dropping the temp into the negative digits (I didn't think that existed!) and ended up with a cold so everything was put on hold.
Bought a seat from Carpy. It's solid as a rock and I am impressed with his work. Sat it on to get a feel for the tank and how its going to look.
I urge you to stop posting your progress immediately before I get any ideas about touching the cherry 1980 CB750C that I bought off my girlfriend's dad... she'll fucking kill me!
Nice score on the double bike deal! Dip those carbs and clean'em up good. From what I hear a .013 "E" string from a guitar will fit down the little bity holes. Right on
Yeah I picked them both up for $450 off a guy in the next city over. And I have the carbs soaking in Pine-sol right now. Gonna pick up one of those strings soon now.
