it's in the details ;D

Take care of the little things and the big things take care of themselves...I guess that is why the devil is in the details :)

This is the kind of ingenuity you find on Do The Ton. We had some 3/4 copper so we made some baffles for our cl pipes. Is there any reason why we can't use pipe wrap for baffle packing?

If you wrap it tight on the baffle, it will negate the holes you put in it. Most muffler batting is loosely wrapped around and not woven. But-- This will work to quiet the exhaust noises.

thanks we will try it real loose...will let you know how it works! We really appreciate all your feed back! Gonna use some pop rivets as retainers and to get the right spacing for a tight fit and then screw it in place.

They also make relatively cheap packing for dirt bikes. You could probably buy 1 packing and make 30 of those baffles!

yea the dirt bike stuff was 15 bucks but this was only a 1.99 and we bought some extra...I really would like to use SOS pads for a firework show...but momma wouldn't be too happy with fire combg out of our tail pipes :)

I used some safety wire tied around the ends to hold it in place. You could do the same with regular copper wire (stripped) to make it easy to re wrap if needed.

how has the pipe wrap held up on the ends?

It was wrapped like this.

I think you may have meant using the screws to hold the baffle in the pipe after re reading your response.
