Feeling good. This has been a long time coming.

So I have had every issue under the sun tuning a hot rodded CB360 known as Gretta. As some of you know, like at the previous Barber's, she rears her ugly head and does something foolish every time I try to go for a ride. Long story short, I have spent days on end getting her tuned. Turns out, 15* advanced on the ignition timing suits the megacycle cam, and well...she is mean. Very mean. And I love it. Running very well, and there will be some changes for you guys when you get here for Barber's, but for now...we went on a ride or 20. And here are some shots from today during our stroll in the woods. Just wanted to share!!!

Lookin' good, Kiley. About time we heard a bit more about this bike. I thought you'd gotten too wrapped up with 400Fs and building new shops. :p

I found I needed more advance with the Megacycle cam as well. Are you running the GS850 pistons in Gretta? I went with some domed pistons that further killed the propagation of my flame front and I'm running with 25° of initial advance now. Kickback is a bitch some of the time, but throttle response just isn't there if I go with less. I did, finally, find a guy making a fully programmable electronic ignition for the 360 though, and I may give it a try. But at $370, it doesn't come cheap. I'm still working on my own ignition system, but it's kind of on hold until I tackle some other stuff.

I'm running stock domed 850 pistons yes sir! And yes it is a bitch to start! Takes all of my weight to get her rolling, but once running it does very well on the road at 15° advanced. I marked the stator to make. It easier to time. I messed around with modifying a gl1000 dyna, and built an hei powered unit with Toyota hall effect sensors. The problem i have is the space is so small, it is hard to get a true 90° firing ratio. Thinking of using a transistorized box and keeping the points for now. Who is doing the programmable units?

Mad science bitches!

What did you do to limit the total advance on your unit?

For the programmable unit, it's made by a company called Probe Engineering. They're based in California and the owner is a huge bike enthusiast. It ditches the mechanical advancer and is fully programmable, which is a huge plus for me. You can set dwell and even a redline.

Looks like the real deal (finally!), to me:

Also... I have the full manual for it. I can send it over to you, if you're interested. PM me with your email address.

Holy crap that's awesome. And I re-pinned the advance unit and retrofitted a slightly heavier spring.

Mad science bitches!

Holy shit....i didn't think it was possible, but thanks brad, I'm glad i can make a Honda that you like. That's a feat! And nail on the head with the parts finally working...i have literally fought this engine to the point i had to put the cover on it and step away for a while. I think it knows that barbers is coming and its time for her to ride in. Thanks buddy.

Congrats brother. Glad to see Gretta is finally treating you right after all the effort and love you poured into her.

Thanks man, other that a little smoke at start up, all is well. Rings are still bedding in.

Not much in life that is good comes easy, and Gretta is no exception. But the end result is spectacular! Now that Gretta is dishing out fewer headaches, maybe Denise can love her a little more!!!! Hahaha.

That's true, and i doubt it! She hates the mistress...if i thought she new where a timing cover was i would accuse her of sabotage!

It's nice to see Gretta acting as fast and loose as she has always looked. 8)

Looking great Kiley! I bet it's nice to finally enjoy a ride, huh? Can't wait to ride with you guys in October! Can it please get here soon???

Huzzah for Gretta and her handler!!!

I feel the 'feel good' sentiment as well. Almost 4 weeks since my wreck, and I am finally able to bend my left leg enough to get back on a sportbike. Took Christine out for a run tonight, and had a blast. Man that feels good!

Glad for you man! I envy your photog skills as well. ;)

Thank you guys. You all get it, and that's what matters. I really appreciate it coming from you lot. Here are some teasers of some "upgrades" coming for her for barber's....

Think Ballistic battery, Brembo caliper from Ducati, CBR1000 rotor laced to Excel black powdercoated 2.5 wheel, custom caliper carier, and rotor adapter by PJ. Something wicked this way comes....

She looks better everytime I see her. Those Ballistic batteries are finicky about the cold, by the way. You're just gonna stick with kick only though, right?

Yep, she hasn't had a starter since i took it off 3 years ago.
