Great thread Kiley! I too, can hardly contain myself at the prospect of seeing Gretta up close and personal in October! 
Love the fridge! I have an old Crosley-Moffet with the push/pull handle in the middle of the door! It sits in my office at work. It has a monster appetite for electricity, but I love it! 8)

The truth that we try to deny is that there is "the build" and then there's the "get it running properly" stage which is followed by upgrades and small changes.
In the normal world it seems to me that when we are 95% complete, that means about half the work is done. It takes as long to finish off and get all the little details right as the rest of the project. That seems to apply to most projects. On bikes, it's jetting or cam timing or brakes or handling that isn't quite right. That is the D in the R&D process. It's time consuming and can be very frustrating.
Upgrades - well they can go on forever....

In fact I'm sitting here lacing up yet ANOTHER wheel for her tonight because while the drums work, I feel like I can get more out of a new brake system for the front. And on and on. In short, you are absolutely right. If you break a bike down to make her a performance bike, just as is in the spirit of the original cafe racer movement, then you are in for a ride. A long ride.

Hey man, I plan on using Accel rims as well. Did you just choose those quickly or what was your reason? I know they come shouldered or not, and dimpled or not. Just curious to your rhyme or reason. Or not, haha. So far I am stuck on fully polished shouldered with polished ss spokes on the factory hubs, which after stripping the clear look impeccable for 33 years old. Milo

And auto, i choose excel because i could get them for a decent price and they are new. Plus three years ago when i laced up the rear, that is what i used because the wm6 was available for me to use my 130 rear tire. So when i bought my new one i wanted it to match.
