Cool update. That's a perdy triumph you have there!

Thanks! I parked the bikes side by side today... Now I know why everybody calls the 175 a "small bike" Wow.

As you can see more reassembly happened today. Gonna be a long slow road.

Hey guys! A few rainy days yielded some work on the 175. After 6 attempts the other morning I got the cam chain back on. It took every opportunity to dive into the oil sump. Finally, after I was 20 min late for work, I got it secured. From there the head went back on in a hurry and I got the engine all buttoned up.

Today's project was to put the motor back in the frame.

Once again I hit the wall where I need parts that I cannot source locally to make more progress. So now I wait.

Parts that are coming include the belly tank made famous by Swapmeet Louie:

Will that CB160 sloper belly pan fit an upright 175 with a frame in the way?

After a little reading and searching pictures I got this ordered instead.

GFTP was super-easy to deal with. It took one email to get the order changed to the correct belly pan.

Once I got that all straightened out, I ordered some fork boots and headlight ears from DCC. I can't wait for new stuff!!!

Lately I feel like I am doing everything twice and getting nowhere. Plans for tomorrow are to create a pan for the electrics and figure out gauges. I am thinking very seriously about digital gauges. I can't do the wiring until I get gauges figured out. Anybody have experience with Trail Tech?

Last weekend I put on some fork boots and some new headlight ears. I am not in love with the ears but I am going to leave them be.

At the end of the evening I rolled the bike into the drive to take a couple of pics for motivation.

Damn, I wanna ride this thing again.
Also, belly pan should be here tomorrow. Why not take on more!

I should post a pic of my CB360 next to my Harley Ultra Classic.... it made me chuckle the first time I saw them together.

Your bike is looking good though... keep up.

Spent the day dialing in the suspension on the Daytona and got zero work done on the CB.
I ordered a tiny battery last night.

I know someone else tried this and failed. I figured since I am doing things 2 and 3 times why not try it.

Finally, belly pan arrived. I have lots of work to do before I can mount it but here is a masking tape mock up.

And now I am off to watch the TT and pray for rain so I can spend Sunday in the garage.

Coming along well. Do you have any plans for the tank?

Great job on the engine, looks great. :D

I plan on using the stock tank. It is pretty darn straight and rust free. I doubt I can find anything I want in better shape. I will paint it in a color and scheme that is yet to be determined. The body work may do some time in matte black before final paint.

New battery arrived yesterday. Holy crap this thing is awesome. Saw this on another build but they failed to make it work. We shall see.

You may want to consider a PC8 from Eastern Beaver as an upgrade. Nicely made. http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Products/Fuseboxes/PC-8/body_pc-8.html#pc8only

Yep, wish I knew this existed this morning... I got far enuf that I won't do this part twice. I hope somebody buys this product for their bike cuz it looks rad.

Side note, I found inspiration for the paint...Hope it works out.

IF you are building a >200cc honda listen to Teazer and Big Rich.

Lovely clean lines. The 1000 yards of wiring you threw is has completely disappeared. Nice job.

Nice job on the wiring. Did you do anything special to wire up that battery? Any extremely resistors or anything? I'd like to use a battery that small. I hope it works out!

I haven't fired the engine since the rebuild so I don't know for sure how it will interface with the charging system. The paperwork included with the battery said there is nothing special to be done.

The battery did run down to 9 volts over the course of the day with the lights on and off but I think it will be fine when the bike is running. It charged at 2 amps in about 20 minutes on my battery charger.

Updates coming.
