Agreed. There are lots of cool new bikes, but it's hard to beat a mod-classic from the 70's or 80's! Lots of us here feel this way! 8) 8) Great work, BTW! :)

sick work man, it looks awesome!
im hoping to wind up with something similar from my gs project.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Seems that there are a LOT of kindered spirits lurking around this place, eh?!!! Pretty cool.

Real nice Z like how you have kept it looking Original/Custom. Need advice, I have a 77 Kz1000 need to lower it a few inches to tall for mee any suggestions keep in mind I want it to Handle better. Thanks Gunney39

Thanks!! for the compliment. As far as lowering you can slide the fork up in the triples and get shorter shocks and or an 18" front wheel.

The kz as it stands and the crazy GS

Hey galaxian,

Lets see some pics of that GS!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there a thread on that thing??????? Looks super BAD ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8)

The GS in not on DTT. Its one of my friend's bike and it rides on a 230 tire on a 7" rim with a 3.5" offset front sprocket and incredible machined parts such as the rear hub he built and front sprocket support. Not to mention his own swingarm design along with a gsxr front end that uses a cb750 hub and spoked rims...insane.
I will try to get more pics and post them.

Way cool. Cant wait for a bunch pics of that monster. I love the 83 1100E's!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

That bike is just stunning! So tasteful mods, surely something to aim for.
How much did you need too alter to fit the forks? And would it be the same on a 650?
And talking 'bout 650s, is there any pics in here of yours?

I've bought myself a '79 Z650 about a month ago, so I'm collecting ideas at the moment, and will start the build in the fall.

GreatDane,

thanks for the compliment. As far as 650 vs 1000 my changes would work on either. The front end was fairly straight forward. The ZX7 stem ID was exactly the same as the KZ stem OD. So i cut the zx7 stem right at the triple and pressed the kz stem out of the original bottom triple and into the zx7 triple. I then welded the bottom...DONE. The rear is even easier it bolted right in. The only thing that caused some issues was machining the sprocket carrier to get the chain to line up.

I dont have any pics of my 650 at the moment but i decided to build a Bratstyle out of it. I had fitted full gsxr suspension to it and thought why build another streetfighter that will look almost like my 1000 so i am going a different direction. I can post pics of it in its current cut up state but its a slow going project.
