Say, when mounting the dynamos, do you mount them so the spark plug wires are coming out towards the rear wheel or front wheel, as well, what is the firing order per each dynamo? I goofed and did not document as I removed each wire. Thanks again.

Holy crap...I am having a HELL of a time posting on this forum...hope this one goes through in fact. Anyway, I will try to send you my cel, give me a ring after Monday (the 11th) and I will go out to the garage and get those measurements...sorry this took so long...one crashed computer and all the f-king drama that goes along with such malodies!

Side bar: one of my all time favorite bikes!

really just love this bike. i love the new suspension and brakes on the old muscle of a motor. this gets me more excited than hardtails or anything else. i like to think of them as resto mods lol. nothing looks better than usd's on some older bikes. i had a chance to buy a kz900 off a bud at work for 400 bucks but passed it up(ive got two cb360s and a gs1100 in the garage and the wife is getting a little pissy). i def will be doing something similar with a cb750 or 900. would love to find a cbx since i have its biggest competition already( cough gs1100 cough) :). great work. keep it up.

The stripe looks perfect on that carbon-fiber. Perfect! It looks "race" and it looks "period" and it looks "right".
Nice!

Guys thank you. I am doing a 650 project to be the little brother to this bike. Full GSXR front and rear end. I am trying to wedge a 1000 motor in but am having a heck of atime right now. I will post some pics of that bike hopefully soon. Anyone in Chicago Paint :)

I didnt read through the whole thread again, so forgive if it was already answered, where did you get / make those rear sets? Thanx.

Hey, you start that 650 project, yet? Give us details on where to go to see it, pleeeeez!!!

Nice. I love my kz650, but the motor is a bit anemic. looking forward to seeing your build for it.

Great build, BTW.

I did start it but its a slow start. I stripped the bike and have removed the center stand brackets and master cyl bracket on the frame. I also removed the headstock lock (it didnt work) and have welded up the hole to make a smooth head tube.

- Front end is a non upside down gsxr forks, second gen calipers. That is pretty much a bolt on.
- Rear end is a 92 complete rear, i am deciding whether or not to monoshock it or twin shock it havent decided.
- the rest is basically all KZ650 still going back and forth on the paint.

Still have to buy some rear sets and weld on the brackets to fit them, nothing to really see yet mostly boxes of parts now. I will post some pics as the project gets going.

I'd ride it ;)

Nice work indeed. I've decided this is the style of bike I identify with most. 70s/80s muscle, with upgraded suspension. Factory quality fittings.

well done fella.

cheers
