The big movie of the year is an english adaptaion of the very popular Swedish movie "Girl With the Dragon Tatoo" Great movie and she rides a cb350 Type 1 in the English version as far as I can tell (1968?). Check out the trailer and pic. Cafe Too! Check out 0:07 and 2:36

"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" New Trailer #2

I've been anticipating this film since the first trailer. Guaranteed to be good since it's directed by David Fincher, he hasn't made a stinker yet. The prop people did a good job in casting a bike that fits the character though wardrobe could've done a better job with her jacket. I've seen too many movies where the character rides a bike that just doesn't fit the character's lifestyle. Or when a hero commandeers someones bike on street and it happens to be a brand new Ducati. Looks like a mashup of a few 350s, built by the folks at Glory Sales in Los Angeles. I like that they used the actual exhaust sound in the riding scenes, consistent with the CL pipes and shorty mufflers. Okay now I'm geeking out but it's pretty cool to see the humble CB350 play such an integral role in a big movie.

From the trailer, it looks fairly true to the original. I hope they don't "Hollywood it up" and ruin the feel.

I saw the Swedish version on the plane while sitting beside a ridiculously hot Sweedish girl. Great movie.

Did anyone see the Swedish movies? They're actually pretty good, and new... it's kind of weird to me that they're remaking them, but at least it's with Daniel Craig, David Fincher and a cb350.

Yes, the originals are available with subtitles from Netflix. Better than I thought they would be.

They did do a good job of matching the bike to the character. In the original Sweedish movie she rides a modern bike. The cafe cb350 has the right mix of independence, anti establishment non conformance and originality fitting with the character.

I heart Lisbeth Salander.

That was a good read. I love how they made it look so weathered, but underneath it all is a very reliable bike.

If you haven't seen the english version of the movie yet, you should. It's a very good adaptation. I actually liked it better than the Swedish version... mostly due to the pacing. I thought the english version actually tells the story better. I do still like the Swedish version, don't get me wrong. It's nice having a Swedish story be told in Swedish, but I think the english version is very good, and not very Hollywood. The cb350 shows up fairly often too, so that's fun.

Havent had a chance to see the flick (either one) yet, but am pretty stoked to do so. Anyone out there who may be a football (American) or especially a Steelers fan should know that Ms. Rooney Mera (sp?) is the great grand-daughter of Art Rooney (hence her first name), founder of our beloved team. Her family also owns the New York Giants. A Steelers association, and a cb350 cafe. Nice.

As a big fan of the Swedish films (I own all three) I was very worried to see the new american one. I still haven't seen it but a friend of mine who is equally into the originals said it was very good so I guess I am going to go give it a shot this weekend. The CB certainly doesn't hurt.

Trent Reznor is doing the score to the movie...

That in an of itself will make it worth seeing.

Aaaahhh, if I wasn't interested before, I am now.

I own and read all three books in the Millennium Series twice and watched the original Swedish film versions twice. I was very worried the Hollywood would completely ruin the book and reduce the story to the lowest common denominator for American audiences, but I was pleasantly surprised by the new American adaptation. Despite the James Bond like intro, the film was well made, edited and had a very good and dramatic pacing the was true to the original book. Daniel Craig played Blomquist very well and was believable and as much as I like Noomi Rapace in the Swedish role of Lisbeth Salander, Mara Rooney did a good job as well.

There were a few obvious departures from the book ( Lisbeth rode a Kawasaki 125, not a Honda 350 like everyone else on this forum, some of the characters and character interactions were omitted or abridged and the end of the film seemed to rush to conclusion with some shortcuts.

I was expected the worse but overall really liked the film.
