Goldwing build (CAFE/Bratt)

Shit Joe, that is insane. I really need a garage so I can strip shit off the nudiewing and mail it to you for powder over the winter. Man I wonder if I can cheaply rent a spot for the winter. I would love to send you the wheels, trees, covers etc, to flat black for me to go with my orange. We'll see how the $$ go closer to the end of the season.

Keep it up, this is going to be a nice wing when done for sure.

Id love to know more on what you did to the tank to make it once piece! It looks super clean man and the color is amazing.

Here I figured your Motion Ind. would have had those bearings in stock, when I got mine they said there was 200 in Chi-town. but they had 5 at my local branch.
Bike is lookin sick man... I need your resources ;D

I did not even check to be honest i needed new dust seals as well because this one did not have any to even re use... i foung a set of all balls pretty cheap so i went with them. just waiting on them to get here

vegas, it is all glass and body work, using the stock rear hinge, then pulled out the stock key hole and replaced it with the zues. the body work is what sells it man so clean you would never know it was 2 parts ever

anyway... here is some more pics of this weekends labors ... wheels have one more bake time and they are done!!! then we can get a roller together! hell if we bust ass we may even get to fire it up this week!

shot the switch housings to match the Powder, they came out great but where still curing last night so i did not snap a pic, ill get a shot of them when i get back to the shop...
got the radiator back together, everythign is coated and the fan blades have been shot to match the frame, you will never really see them but if you do look... it will be done

also the covers are done... if you scroll back a bit you can see where the base coat of flat black was laid on them... this is why, you will notice that the lettering is done in flat black powder and the red accents around it, trick details that make it stand out!

That looks fucking awesome! I love the contrast on the brakes... makes me excited to rebuild.

Those colors look awesome. Love the two tone black and red. Can't wait to see this sucker and it's big fat engine rip it up.

well base coat is on.. and finally finished the masking work! the raised lips of each part of the center has been shot red and the rest of the wheel black... then matching that thickness there is a stripe going all the way around teh lip of the rim (right in the crease) the whole wheel will then be coated... and will look awesome!

next pics will be coate wheels!

Damn Joe. This thing is going to be a fuckin' monster. The next bike I do, your getting all my PC work. And if I stick to my plan, there will be plenty.

this is very tedious masking work, but is what we do... the over all effect will make it worth the time!

I haven't found *anyone* around here that can do the sort of work you're churning out Joe. I show 'em the pics, and they have this 'wide-eyed, rabbit-in-the-headlights' stare.

awesome work fella.

ok... slight change of plans... we decided that with the red calipers the red outter stripe was too much. so we ditched that, are redoing the front wheel right now... but here is the final rear, it is tough to see with the shop lights but all the raised areas on the com star is red to match the powder... came out so trick! just subtle that really makes these wheels pop!!!!

Fuck Joe, those look awesome. I really need to sell something to get $$ so I can send you all the bits off my bike to do over the winter. We shall discuss in WV. I don't think I have ever seen powder work with that much attention to detail. And I used to buy powder coated parts at a previous job. Man when this is all together and in the sun it is going to pop.

Awesome!! did you have to pop the bearings out before powder coating?

OF COURSE! bearings can not handle that heat and there is a chance of them running out anyway. we pull the bearings, chemical strip, blast, and coat

Jeeze Joe.... I need a cold shower and a new pair of shorts now... That has to be the coolest comstar I have ever seen. You and Sean deserve big props on this build
