Hey, new to cafés

I'll weigh in here. Usually I'm all for the keep the bike close to stock think, but that was a bloated year and even in the land of over priced crap, those bikes around here don't bring much. There has been one over the hill from me for $2,400... It's been listed for over three years. There was one a couple blocks over from my home, started at $2,800 was down to $1,400 before it sold. I love Honda 750's, but that model never did anything for me. I say look at that Brat on this site and go in that direction.... http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=42280.0;attach=102926;image

Wah? You don't like my cliché?

The point of my shallow heckle is that, no matter how nice this bike is, it is still just a bike (one of 1000s of identical bikes, maybe 100s now). I will give Chris the benefit of the doubt and assume he knows he can probably sell this to the right person and buy 3 project bikes. But in the end, he should feel comfortable doing whatever he wants with it.

If I were you I'd just ride the thing this riding season and get to know it. Decide what works for you and what needs to be changed - if anything.

Probably the best advice given so far.

But sometimes, people have a vision in their mind that they just have to create. Don't be afraid to do it. It is only metal.

I appreciate everyone's input and I'm taking everything in, I do like the brat style a lot though, I'm not a huge fan of the big seat hump in the back on the traditional cafés, I like the low profile sleek seats, and the clean look with the hidden battery and wires etc.

Lets put it this way... I will meet you half way and trade you even up. :-X
And unless you are used to modern sport bikes power, this thing will wake you right the fuck up Harley Boy.

Haha thanks but not interested, I'm more into doing the work myself, I've owned a modern sport bike, their fast but who needs to go 150+ mph, I'm more about how fast I can get up to 80 mph! My Harley smokes sport bikes off the line ;-)

Fair enough...can't blame me for trying, good luck to you.
But I seriously suggest selling the OEM LTD tank and sidecovers on e-bay and buying a used set off from a standard K model. It will likely pay for your project. ;)

Wow Hosier... you are a brave man. While I love the look of the red frame, I don't think I have the balls to pull the trigger and actually paint my frame red... in case it didn't look good. Course, I guess a frame is always only a sand blast away from another try.

Nice bike!

Haha I bet! Well being an Indiana native myself, if you are ever in the mood for more room in the garage let me know before you go selling it to someone else!
