Hoosier DTT Crew

Hey Sherm... I posted a reply.
Saturday I have plans but maybe Sunday if you still need help.
But then if the seal is bad, I really don't know what I could do except look at it, scratch my head, and drink your beer and say "Yup, it's leaking".

Haha well thats about all I've been doing here lately it seems, I'm heading to Indy Saturday for the motocross race and St. pattys day so I doubt i'll be in any shape to do much of anything on Sunday lol. Me and my roommate are pros at tearing this motor down by now so shouldn't be a problem if it comes to that, just trying to find a solution that doesn't involve that.

Hey guys how are things goin? Not to bad here in fort fun. I am working on getting the engine to my cb750 put back together and such. Did a top end rebuild. I have a few questions for some of you more experienced guys. What's the best way to clean prime and paint the bottom of the engine? Just roll it on its side? Also I'm trying to find some exhaust spigot screws. Mine are stripped. Any suggestions on where I can get new or newer ones?
thanks

Stay safe on the road guys!

I rolled my Zooks engine forward so it rested on a 2x4 on the exhaust outlets. then once that was dry I rolled it back upright and painted the rest, overlapping to the bottom I had already painted

Not sure what you mean by "spigots". but if it is bolts, socket head capscrews (allen head bolts) or studs you are after...Go see a Fastenal distributor, there is two in Ft Wayne. A proper search on www.fastenal.com and you can order single or packages of the items you are after. Probably available in even zinc coated or stainless if you want extra "bling".

HD totally just read all your build threads....you have some awesome skills bro. Wish I knew just a little of what you know. I gotta say out of all ur builds I like the bomber one the best. My boss's father has an 80's Goldwing that has been parked and under a tarp since if I recall 03. I may have to see if he is ready to part with it. I would love to do some thing of a bobber cruiser build.

Til next time. Stay everyone

You're too kind, nothing I've done can't be done by the average Joe with a decent set of hand tools... and a bunch of Buds like these guys to pump for info. ;)
Keep me posted on your Bosses bike. There are some things that can "Make or Break" a good deal on an old GL.

Spotted a red cafe at the Chipotle in fort Wayne on my way home from work today. It was around 515pm. Anyone on here?

started working on my wheels yesterday and the spokes are pretty rusty and crusty...how hard is it to true them? or does anyone have a good location to have them done here in the NE IN area?

Hey guys, I've been lurking around on here for some time now. I live in Bloomington for one more week then moving up to Carmel for work. We are in the process of building a huge rock climbing gym up there and it's time to get to know some Indy people outside of the climbing culture. I know a few people up there who ride but it's always nice to know more than a few for when you need some help bike wise. I've had a 74 cl 360for about a year, bought it for $400 in mint condition with insanely low miles on it and a few tank dints and this week it will be finally done for the riding season. Then ripping it apart again in the winter. Any good garage spaces for rent around 96th and Michigan area?

Cheers and looking forward to the move and meeting new friends.

You and I should kick it, Ryan. I live in Carmel off 146th across from Clay Terrace. Dunno if about any garage rentals @ 96th & Meridian, but you're always welcome to drop by if you need a lending hand. I've got plenty of hand tools, grinders, and a spankin new Lincoln 125 welder. Just bring a 6-pack and the bike! I've currently got mine pulled apart to redo the exhaust.

I would be down for that. Once I get all moved in and settled. I'm going to try and make it to the rockers reunion in may. Maybe that will give me a chance to meet some people. So my goal will be to have the bike good to go by then. Just need to mount the new tires this week, find a way to mount the new seat, new petcock, axel taillight/license bracket and sync the damn carbs and re jet. Grrrr...it's always the damn carbs!

This is what she looks like put together as of now. (the seats just sitting on it) Seats being upholstered today. I got bored and blacked out the rims today. I think it will look good. It will hopefully look way better and different by next week.

Now I just have to get these fucking fork seals out and put her back together.

Looks great man. Yea I'm trying to be ready for the same event. She runs great excellent but I cant get the damn thing to idle for shit. Dies almost instantly. I hate dealing with 4 cylinders. One of my buddies has a cl360 needs his forks rebuilt like woah. The front tire hops on hard turns, lol. Sketchy..

Anybody know a good place in indy for carb work? I have a pair of mikuni bs34s I need to get tuned for my 79 gs425 w/ stacks and open exhaust.

Looks like the Ryca cafe kit for the Suzuki Savage. Google it, they now have a Scrambler & they are working on a hard tail kit.
