Also, created a posting on FB to which I have hundreds of friends who are Certified Trainers (for dogs) like myself and I know that they will sign it as well...........should be hitting that magic number very soon

If you don't want to read to the end, long story short, She was canned. Please keep spreading the petition.
I want to personally thank everyone. I know there are DTT members that signed the petition who have not stated it here. I've read through the entire petition. I've seen the names. Thank you, each and everyone of you, from the bottom of my heart, for stepping up and standing tall for this young girl and the animals she is trying to save.
This whole issue hit home with me just as it obviously has you. We all have our reasons to step up. For me its simple. Almost every single animal on my farm is a rescue or I purchased them to get them out of a bad situation. Animals know when you've done something for them. It's in their eyes and all you have to do is look for it. I'm reminded of it every day and it's what keeps me going.
Its about advocating for abused or neglected animals. As far as I know there are currently over 100 animals being held at the shelter with no heat or water. Without Courtney, their fate does not look good. So stepping up is an attempt to make a difference and maybe right a wrong.
Unfortunately I did not attend tonight's commission meeting. We are getting hit with a snow storm and I have been on the tractor for the past 4 hours trying to keep my drive open. I live at the end of a 2000' lane that drifts shut on the threat of a few snow flakes and a light breeze. Tonight much of the lane was drifted over the height of my rear tractor tires. I'll be back at it again at 4am.
So anyhow, I do have news to report. This was posted on the Help Support Courtney Austin FaceBook page:
"As a favor to Courtney, I ask that EVERYONE keep your comments positive and DO NOT discuss the details of what took place in the Commission Meeting. Courtney has an attorney and until the case has been made, NONE of us would want to jeopardize the outcome.
Yes, The Commissioners voted to remove Courtney from her position, however, it's not over yet and Courtney will still need everyones support. Lets keep working to make this case a National Debate. Thank You ALL for your understanding and support."
So please continue to share the petition and get the word out.

Vicki Cole is a POS for suspending a dedicated employee after failing to provide heat and water for the facilities under her administration.
We've adopted four rescue dogs and would adopt more if we didn't already hit the County limit. Here in Ventura County, our animal shelters are in the middle of transitioning to a "no-kill" system, where they find foster homes for every animal until a permanent home is found. I hope others follow their lead.

The Shelter was burning Garbage in the animal incinerator and using little space heaters for heat during the week in question, because the furnace was not working. Read On:
During a meeting last week Courtney signed a paper stating that she understood she was being suspended because she didn't hand over control of her PERSONAL FACEBOOK PAGE. This was after she made the plea for help and the Commission felt it made them look bad.
At the commission meeting yesterday many supporters showed up (even 2 hours away from Pittsburgh) to show support for Courtney and the shelter. Volunteers for the shelter testified stating that during a cold spell there was no heat and the water froze. The commission president stated that the claim was not true and the shelter has never been without heat and water and the post on Facebook was false. The commission asked for control of the facebook page. She denied, and is the reason Courtney got canned.
Shame they missed the news that week. The commissioners would have learned that the furnace wasn't working and, for heat, the shelter was burning garbage in the animal incinerator. I kid you not.
