Impossible to do the speed limit on the highway...

Every time I get out on the highway I find myself cruising between 85-100mph. When I slow down to 70ish because of traffic or just because i notice how fast I'm really going, it feels like I'm barely moving. Anyone else have this issue or am I just too much of a speed demon for a bike that operates smoothly at high speeds?

There are a couple of cures for your "problem". One is to take your bike to Bonneville and find out how fast you are (or aren't. Depending on the class record for your bike). The other is a couple of speeding tickets. The first cure is way better.

also ... + a tank slapper.

I have found myself in a similar situation before in cars, havent gotten my bike back yet to test this theory on it.

Find curvier roads.

I try to for pleasure rides, but my ride to work is a 20min blast straight down the interstate. Big wide lanes and good visibility often make me all but loose my sense of speed. Oh well there's no real plans on keeping the bike now anyways. I'd really to buy a house some time soon. Just wondered if anyone else deals with this "issue."

It is

Fret not. It is completely impossible to stay at the speed limit when on a bike. Cars, get out of my way, dammit! Whatcha riding?

I too have a 20 minute blast down a mostly deserted 4 lane in the mornings. Getting pinched for "riding like all of hell is on your ass" worked quite well to slow me down.

I think I'll get a Chinese 125 push rod motor and sidecar that should keep me under the speed limit ;D

Get modern speedo when yours says 100 mini vans shouldnt be passing ya

What are you worrying about? Isn't that what bikes are for? As long as you are safe, and don't hurt yourself or anyone else.
There are 4 or 5 miles of nice snooth dual carriageway near my home, between me and the next town, and I always always go well into 3 figures traffic permitting. A ton on a modern 1 litre super bike is bugger all ! My R1 is ready for 3rd at 115 mph.........
