Is this an issue? Exhaust Question

Hello - So, I decided to wrap my exhaust the other day (4 into 1) and today when I went to reinstall it I had some trouble getting the header to seat properly. 2 of the header pipes seat easily and I was able to secure everything with the two nuts on the studs from the manifold. Similarly, I was able to maneuver a third pipe into position and secure it tightly. However, no matter how hard I tried, how much adjusting and maneuvering I did I was unable to get the 4th pipe seated in the port correctly with the flange against the manifold. For this 4th pipe, after I tightened down the nuts as much as I could, the flange was still about 1/4" away from the manifold. Is this going to be an issue? Has this ever happened to someone with an aftermarket exhaust? It definitely feels secure but I just don't know if it will affect something else. Let me know your thoughts - thanks.

First two pics show the correctly seated pipes and the third shows the gap in the one pipe that's giving me issues.

Just checking -- but are you using the exhaust collars and a new seal? The flange should not tighten up flush to the engine, there should be a small gap.

First of all, that ^

Secondly, did you tighten the nuts gently at first and then gradually tighter, moving from one to the other to ensure that they are all evenly secured?

Yes, I did gradually tighten the nuts down and I did use the the exhaust collars. However, I did not replace the seals. This could be the issue. Looks like I will have to take it off and replace the seals first.

Pretty much have to replace exhaust seals every time you pull the headers off, since they are a crush fit item. Fortunately they are cheap and plentiful

Makes sense - while we are on the topic of these gaskets, does anyone have any laying around (in the NJ/PA area)? Ordering from a site, even though they are very cheap, will probably come out to $20 after shipping is factored in.

If you have a Honda Powersports dealer near you I can almost guarantee they will have some in stock. Or maybe I'm just lucky.

You can also go online and have NOS parts ordered through your dealer (if they are available obv), and then avoid paying shipping costs, as you can go pick them up from the dealer.

I've contacted about 6 dealers near me, waiting for a reply. So far, one has replied and does not have them in stock but quoted me at $26.50 for them to be shipped in 5 days...

4into1 is a reputable seller and is offering free shipping on these at $4.65 a pop. Should get to you by Monday.

If I cared enough, i'd look through your post history to confirm my belief that 95% of your posts are of the form "why did you do ____" or "___ looks stupid."

You'd be wrong. ALMOST very post is relevant, and many many are in good humor and positivity. You might do that search. I help a lot of people here.

Wrapping pipes ruins them and adds heat in areas you don't want it.

Dont you have a lawnmower to change the spark plug on somewhere
