Re: Biker Babe's Bobber - 1975 Honda CB500T

Nice work Jenn. Love the pipes and the tank. It's gonna be a very nice bike. Keep it up you two. I wanna ride beside that sucker at Barber 2011!

Heh...I'm with ya on that one.....

Re: Biker Babe's Bobber - 1975 Honda CB500T

We've done some work on the bike this week. I clean me off a section and I work on my bike and Travis works on Damn it. It's nice to get to spend some time together and we'll have some really cool bikes.
I took off the carbs so we could clean and rebuild them. The inside was really clean but the outsides not so much. I also started taking off the covers so I could polish them next week.
We got the new shocks in the mail this week. Their 11 inches and make it the perfect height and really low.
We also got a 1972 Yamaha CT175 Tank. It has the same shape but only bigger. It holds about 3 gallons and fits the bike great. But getting it wasn't as easy. Travis found it on ebay for $39. The shipping ended up being $30 which was strange since the guys lived here in Florida down in Tampa (It's about 4 hours to Tampa from Jax). We got it about 2 weeks later and it came wrapped in a Huggies Diaper Box filled with used wrapping and tissue paper. He left him bad feedback and he got mad so he's refunding the shipping if Travis will change his feedback. That's not a good way to send items you sell. But the tank looks great for the bike. Can't wait to see it painted!

Re: Biker Babe's Bobber - 1975 Honda CB500T

The way that new tank sits over the engine is nice! That's really going to tighten up the look of the bike. Kind of a wrenchmonkees look.

Re: Biker Babe's Bobber - 1975 Honda CB500T

Looks great! Hoping to have it done by the WV get together? if you guys need anything to help finish her up, just hollar!

Re: Biker Babe's Bobber - 1975 Honda CB500T

The new tank really brings the bike together, it's just the right size.
We are trying to have it done by WV or at least able to ride. If anyone wants to ride it, you can drive it down the driveway for me. I'm not getting on it in the gravel, as to I dont want it in the dirt  .
It'll look more like a bobber once we get the new bars on it.
No, it didn't smell like diapers.
Thanks Mike!

Re: Biker Babe's Bobber - 1975 Honda CB500T

C'mon Jenn you will never get good at dirt driveways if you don't practice ;D Although Troy's is kind of boulders and ruts more than dirt. Looking great so far, I like the new tank. And if it is ridable by the GTG I will take it up the driveway for you. if I can rock the 650lb GL up and down it, I should be able to handle the CB500 twin.

Cheers,

Mike

I actually like that tank just as it sits, that faded paint pattern is kinda cool.

Re: Biker Babe's Bobber - 1975 Honda CB500T

It's been a while since I posted anything. I've been busy with work. We've gotten alot done on the bike and we just picked up a bunch of stuff. We're waiting on the new bars to come later this week.

We finished stripping the tank and painted the carbs.
