Well not much has been done to this bike. We have been busy. We got the title then got a used truck. Then had to modify the new truck to our liking. then went on vacation to NY for a week. Came back with crates of RD parts. Sold the RD parts till it was time to get ready for Barber. Prepared for Barber. Went to Barber came back from barber. Sold more parts while rearranging my garage as I got a new toolbox. Then began preparing my gs for a trade with another member then prepared for the trip. So that, is where we are with the bike now. Oh and we got she got a new job and I got a promotion where I work more now. The plan is to come back from our trip this weekend with a sporty, and an rd 200. After the two of them are registered I will begin work on the CB500t. That said I can only work on the tank. I will be build neat MC part related lamps. with the funds from these lamps I will be building a welding table/jig table/ bike building table. We plan on being a little more motivated this winter. That said we have ten projects.
Hello Mr. Swagger. Yes we have winter down here we just dont have the snow or the ice or the negative temps. We also have very thin blood. How about this I'll shovel your sidewalk, if you you mow my lawn at noon in july. Hahaha
Well I got the stupid, you have been slacking on your posting message. We have cleaned the swingarm and painted it. Then we tore the engine down. Found it mostly intact. One of the cam followers is shot and the pistons are scored and rusted. heres some crappy pics.
I finished taking apart the engine last night. I also cleaned the pistons up and honed the cylinders. I think they are gonna survive. As the pistons for this bike are nonexistent. Makes the parts list for the engine under 150 bucks. Sweet! Now Jenn can start cleaning parts and getting them ready for paint. I am still waiting for a welding/jig table. Then I can begin the mods to the frame. Getting real close.
Been working on the engine. Got it all cleaned up and painted. I still have to get the head clean lap the valves and paint it. Then I can reassemble the engine as I have all the parts I need to do so.
Engine is looking awesome. What is your plan paint wise? I'm not gonna lie, I really liked the ratty bobber look before. But, based on what you have done so far I'm sure the bike is going to look sick. Great work, keep it coming
