Hi all thanks for the comments. We are probably gonna paint the tank and fender black. We have not decided if we are gonna paint scallops or stars on the side of the tank. I think we will probably do scallops in the hammertone silver on the tank and fender. I have lapped the valves on the head and painted it. That is a tricky piece to paint. I have been working on the frame this weekend too. I cut all unnecessary tabs off of the frame, cleaned them up. Then I cut the top rails off of the subframe. Oh shit now Im in deep. We are going to get tubing and a tubing bender tomorrow. I hope to have this part of the frame complete over the next couple of weeks. In the pic of the right side of the frame you can see a piece of wire that kinda represents the shape of new to rails. Well I thinks thats enough BS!
Well its been awhile. I have been busy restoring a dirtbike and tinkering with my supermoto. I finally found the time this weekend to get back to the frame. I have a few more things to do to it along with some clean up. heres some pics.
Thanks Justin! Look at this progress two weekends in a row. I welded the plate on for the tank and seat mount. Cleaned up the welds. Then mocked it up real quick. Stuck a rear fender between the rails. I put the taillight and license plate where they may go. Heres some pics
Got the rear, and only fender mounted tonight. I had to trim it and fill the holes in. I wont be mounting the taillight on top like i had originally planned.
Well my leg finally healed up so we are back to building. We have shaved, painted and assembled the forks. cleaned a prepped a bunch of parts for painting. I also mounted the tank and built the seat pan. heres some pics to enjoy.
Thanks everyone. Jenn is pretty stoked. Trying to get paint on a pile of parts today. I am going to try and fab the headlight and taillight mounts this weekend.
Oh wow Mike I dont even know what to say. You have bestowed the Chuck Norris thumbs up to this here thread that can only be bestowed upon greatness. So if it was a mistake I understand.
On that note I did get the pile of parts painted. Gonna order another can or two of the 2k clear and start clearing everything I can.
Thanks for the kind words. We got busy this weekend and painted and cleared a bunch of parts. ( I forgot to take a pic) I also built the gauge mount and the headlight mount. Heres some pics to enjoy.
