My rolling work in progress.Any sugestions on how to paint frame without removing engine?Dont think I can.Let me know what you think.

not to tell you what you should do with your bike BUT i think removing that rear fender will improve the look of your bike just as much or more than painting your frame... I love the colors of your bike though, what color would you paint the frame?

I've got to agree with Summerfest on this one. Your bike is outstanding! I'm really digging that seat. The rear fender removal, with a smaller rear tail light and signals would really make it more awesome!

I might suggest a dark gray metallic for the frame. I've got a 2010 vulcan 900 custom that is matte black, with this sweet gray frame. It sets off the dark black paint nicely. Look it up.

Well I'll go against the grain here and say I would definitely keep the rear fender. Something about it looks right. Plus, you can't deny the practicality. Unless you like having mud flung onto your back.

Nice bike, btw!

I'm thinking about going with gloss black for the frame.I only stayed with that fender for now to use the stock tail light. New York inspection SUCKS!!! I may paint the original duckbill tail section and see how it looks. I do agree that it looks so much better without it though. Had it off when I painted it. I'm glad someone likes the seat. Its one of those ebay covers from Vietnam. Fit and finish is awsome when used on a stock seat pan.

Theres a big gap in the rear part of the seat pan were the original duckbill tail section used to be. I dont think it would look right with the original piece. Any sugestions on how to fill this in and make it look like it belongs there. Thanks for the kind words about the bike. I love doing this. I have less than 500 dollars in thiis thing and that includes the bike purchase. I like taking nothing and making it something.

That space between the seat and fender looks like a great place to stuff that tail light.

How about this. continue the seat in the same profile as the tank.

Realy wouldn't know how to make the seat longer but I have been thinking about maybe a fiberglass piece. I could easily learn how to mold it. My Captain uses the stuff all the time on his saleboat. I left the front fender on because of stability because a aftermarket stabalizer is so expensive. Less than 500 dollars, remember.

that would work. Use the tank, protected of course as the plug for a mold. then glass a piece to make a cover for the back half of the seat. Sort of like the modern thruxtons and Ducati's

Nice bike man, is that seat full foam? I really want to build something like that. How hard was it? I like the idea of the cafe look but being able to have a passenger and just letting them sit on the foam cafe tail.

Oh and I think if you got clip ons and replaced the gauges with smaller ones it would look killer. You'd be able to see the light more and be more "simplified" like cafe's should be. Just a suggestion to improve an already beautiful bike.

So as of today the progress goes like this. compresion #1-110psi #2-125psi #3120psi #4-110psi. New main jet at 125,#25 pilot jet and new float neadles. RUNS AWSOME. Just got done doing the TON in 3rd gear. Now I have to work on that seat void. I got some foam and will start soon. Thanks all for the advise and kind words!!!

The duckbill has to go back on. Mandatory on a 900, I am surprised you passed inspection without it :p

Terrific look, by the way!

I think it looks like there is too much "stuff" back there behind the seat (just my .02)....

BTW, love the bike.
