Switched out the less than adequate stock bulb with an hid. Excited to see how much it helps. It's definitely brighter in the "lights off in the garage" test. I can't stop laughing at the card that came with the bulb though..

That looks good. Yeah, the language on that card is pretty hilarious. Much of the stuff from "points east" that is sold on eBay and other places is written up like that. I suspect that it's the product of someone trying to rely on the literal output of an internet translator app. ::)

Well being that your led will not produce thunder you shall rely on a larger exhaust box explosion.

I got in some of those fancy valve adjustment tools, so I figured I'd go ahead and double check my valve clearances "real quick" even though its only been around 2000 miles since my last valve adjust.

Well it didn't go overly quickly, as the shaft access nut was seized in place and the 10mm Allen head in the soft cast aluminum stripped. Finally with a bunch of pb blaster, heat, punches and a hammer she came loose.

The kicker is that the valves ended up being right in spec still, but at least it will be fixed for next time. Ordered a set of tusk billet caps as well, and they will have some copper anti seize applied before reassembly.

Can you switch out the inner pieces on those valve adjuster tools? I need a 10mm wrench with the flathead inner for the XL

Did yours not have the O ring? Trying to figure out how it got so tight that it couldn't be loosened. They really don't need to be that tight because of the O ring.

Yep it had an o ring, had the white powdery oxidation on the threads as well. Very common issue on these things for those to seize. I likely could have cracked it loose had the hex not stripped out like it was made of soft butter. The billet one with anti seize should be much better

Crazy. The timing mark plug would get tight on my DR all the time enough to freak me out, but never that one. Of all the torture that DR committed on me, I'm lucky that wasn't one of the tests.

My DR did the exact same thing. Mine now has a hilariously oversize flat head slot ground into it.

thing is, I did a valve adjust right after I got this thing, but if I remember right I couldn't get the cover off then either. I think I turned the back wheel to line up the timing mark. I have the back wheel off and the axle was at work on my desk, so I figured it was time to get that thing loose.

I didn't have any issue removing the sight cover, but I think that's a steel plug, less likely to strip out the hex with an Allen key.

It is SOOO much easier than fooling around with a 10mm and something to turn the stud plus a feeler gauge. But alas if we were born with 3 hands, we'd wish we had 4.

No ragerts about the purchase though. Well worth the 25 bucks

now you post the valve wrenchs LOL, I had to use an offset box end and flathead driver on the 16 valves on the CRV, that would have been better.

Irk had one at thaw last year, which is the first time I saw them. I decided I needed some after that, and it popped in my head as I was making an Amazon purchase. Definitely makes life easier

I didn't know they were that cheap. the one in the FSM from Honda is like 160 bucks. 25 and 3 sizes and 3 inserts is way better. I got to do the valves on the GL this winter so I will be ordering a set.

Finally got some time to bend some tubing and do a little tack up fab work on the trailer. This is more or less the "hitch" that will attach to the bike. It will get more guessing to stiffen everything up.
