I thought I'd throw this out there and see if anybody wants to comment, suggest, etc. A friend of mine had aquired (legally) a 2004 Honda CBR600RR as well as several boxes of parts and accesspries. After a review and some discussion I'm going to help him sort, advertise, and sell/dispose of the stuff. I know that in general a CBR600 isn't usual DTT fodder but there's a wide variance of interests and expertise here so I'll take any thoughts or comments. IF it and/or the parts seem likely to be of interest here I'll post up ads in the For Sale area. Right now I'm soliciting comments, opinions, etc.
The unknown:
Miles: Unknown If/when I come across the speedo we'll see.
Title: Maybe. He's asked for it and the owner has said they'll send it along, but we'll see.
Does it run: He was told that it runs... unknown. I doubt that I'll even try to start it.
The known:
Generally it seems to be all there but I haven't seen a muffler; pipe & can. the header is there. It's probably been down... hard, soft, I don't know. There seems to be two complete sets of bodywork in boxes. One of them looks like it's a very decent used OEM metallic red set, perhaps purchased on eBay or something. The other set appears to be a new ABS set in white in a box from a retailer. Lots of other parts; new brakes, bent radiator, clutch plates, etc. Doesn't look like the forks or frame are tweaked and the wheels look ok. I suppose the thing could be put back together, could be made into a naked bike, or perhaps a track bike. In my opinion these were pretty much a dime-a-dozen machine in the 2000s; they were billed as "beginner bikes" and lots were sold and wrecked. Or am I wrong? This isn't something special is it?
Thoughts? Dump it all and be glad it's gone? Sell body parts and dump the bike? If I had it at home I'd consider parting it out but I don't have the facilities here in my southern Mississippi winter locale. Sell as a unit?
