Holy hell Pawn... You pretty much nailed the general idea of what I want. Very cool. Very cool indeed. Your logo designes (everyones actually) are badass. Really makes it tough to pick just one. Ill probobly start a poll with my favorites and let the people decide. If anyone has any issues with me using theirs, let me know. I dont want to ruffle any feathers.

Dig it. I'll subscribe when you're ready. It's important to support the read deal.

I think a "Vincent in the barn" type section would be pretty cool.

I hear ya Indie. I have a bunch of ideas for future segments, but as of now to keep the costs down, itll be mostly bike features. Im talking woth some printers now. The costs are kinda crazy for a finished product. Im looking into other options. Id really like to go all color, but for such limited printing runs, the costs would require a pretty heavy subscription fee. Which is something Im trying to avoid. As far as the first issue, I pretty much have it set up as far as content.

Feature bike will hopefuly be one you all know and love. It seems fitting to have it as the first one in the rag. (and no, its not mine, ha ha ha) ;)
Tech article will be on the proper way to lower forks.
Im talking with a local painter and friend about doing a piece on his work.
There are a couple righteous bands Im working on getting a hold of for an interview.
There will be a short editorial section, and eventually a readers feedback page.
Im hoping to have a product review in there as well...
AND... Im looking into an interview with a pretty well known custom painter.

My big issue now, is trying to decide just how many copies to have printed. I have an idea of whats needed to cover those of you who are interested, but I need a good amount for handouts and whatnot. Ill figure that out though.

Von, have you thought of a smaller "Readers Digest" sized magazine? For cost purposes. I've gotten an issue of a new independently done magazine called Italian Motor and it's done on that size, with HD quality photos. I have to say, I really prefer that size. It's perfect for a magazine that's not littered with ads -- this magazine has NO ads. It's the perfect size for bathroom reading material haha.

Von, I'm sure you've already thought of this but what about not doing it glossy? cheaper paper that way.

The size will most likely be 8.5" x 5.5". And ya Diesel... I would love high gloss, but to keep costs down Ill be going with an uncoated paper. Higher quality than standard stock, but not glossy. The pics wont be PERFECT, but some of the samples Ive seen are still pretty nice. And in the end, I think something with a bit of a rougher "homemade" kind of look will really suit the whole theme. Down the road if this grows, and I can swing it, high gloss will be the chosen medium though.

And Kev Nemo, thanks a million. I may just take you up on that.

Have you considered doing the layouts then having kinkos make color copies on nice paper then folding/stapling yourself? You would save alot of money that way, for only a few hours of work folding and binding issues..

Just a thought..

Hey Mike, I know we talked about this the other day but I just want to let you know:

1) I will be more than happy to sit around drinking your PBR pretending to help and
2) I really will be happy to help any way I can. Just let me know if you need a hand with anything.
