After much deliberation, calculations and using formulas taking into account weight, geometry and force, I began to cut my cardboard to make the templates for linkage. Five boxes of Kelloggs cornflakes and 20 pints of milk later. I bought this!
They certainly dont build car differentials that way, typically they are a lot strong going forward than backwards. In saying that I've seen VW transaxles flipped so than can be used in mid mount engine race cars but they are light weight and low powered (running VW engines). I think I mentioned it earlier in your thread but I dont think you'll have a problem with stregth of the differential, maybe wear, but the CX engine is not exactly a brutal power house
Hey Junk Cafe, that bike looks familiar, I think I have seen it, I notice your near Frederiction, I live in Woodstock and ride down to Fred every once and a while. I may have seen you on the CB. I have an Orange GL1000.
Making trikes with Honda's that spin "the wrong direction" you flip the auto-differential, same principle I believe. CX are not power houses I can't imagine you would have any problem with the diff. That swinger is commonly used on street fighters, with WAY more power and weight than you are dealing with here. I can't imagine you running into a problem with a lightened, low HP CX LOL
BTW- I vote all chrome on this bad boy for paint- it is a natural chrome bike with the killer mods you made!
I would have not thought of using the NTX swinger on the CX, I would have probably gone 'wing if it were me, but i like your idea more, quite frankly.
