Must see CX500. Never mind the dogs bollocks, what about the muts nuts!

Paint scheme should be black and polisk like a cylon and the tail light needs to go left to right, right to left

Yeah, now that you gave it eyes you have to make the tail light fade from side to side in proper cylon/Knight Rider fashion.

They cylon theme would also set your paint scheme as gunmetal and red. Two birds one stone.

Had a bit of time a work to do some fillering and sanding.
As for the colour......................... :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

We know that's just 'primer' and you'll be doing 'chrome' paint ;D

After much deliberation, calculations and using formulas taking into account weight, geometry and force, I began to cut my cardboard to make the templates for linkage. Five boxes of Kelloggs cornflakes and 20 pints of milk later.
I bought this!

By using the dif in this position wont you be driving the gear on the wrong side :-\ pulling then together instead of pushing apart

I’m working on the theory that a bike decelerates as hard though the rear gearing as accelerating.

I think that Honda and all the other manufactures would not want a whining back end every time you slow down!

However I could be wrong!! But hey that’s why we’re here, to have a play outside the box to see if it works.

I’m sure someone out there will tell me different............Bring it on.

They certainly dont build car differentials that way, typically they are a lot strong going forward than backwards. In saying that I've seen VW transaxles flipped so than can be used in mid mount engine race cars but they are light weight and low powered (running VW engines). I think I mentioned it earlier in your thread but I dont think you'll have a problem with stregth of the differential, maybe wear, but the CX engine is not exactly a brutal power house ;)

That's ace, want one!

They do a 'paint' version, I think there is also an aerosol (but not sure?)
I couldn't find the link for it though

I ride a CB750 but this is my friends CX500

That looks pretty good, except the back end looks totally unfinished (where is it - fell off ;D )

Hey Junk Cafe, that bike looks familiar, I think I have seen it, I notice your near Frederiction, I live in Woodstock and ride down to Fred every once and a while. I may have seen you on the CB. I have an Orange GL1000.

Cheers

Thanks for the positive words???? I always enjoy hearing I've broken convention! Although I'm curious as to what's missing?

Making trikes with Honda's that spin "the wrong direction" you flip the auto-differential, same principle I believe. CX are not power houses I can't imagine you would have any problem with the diff. That swinger is commonly used on street fighters, with WAY more power and weight than you are dealing with here. I can't imagine you running into a problem with a lightened, low HP CX LOL

BTW- I vote all chrome on this bad boy for paint- it is a natural chrome bike with the killer mods you made!

I would have not thought of using the NTX swinger on the CX, I would have probably gone 'wing if it were me, but i like your idea more, quite frankly.

In normal conditions we would use the mechanical (friction) brakes to decelerate.

Why don't you try to accelerate from 0-60mph (time it), then use engine braking to decelerate from 60mph-0 (time it again).

Then you would be able to prove or dispel your original theory.
