Re: My CB750 Project(new pic) need some help

Success!.. got them out but i cant seem to get the countershaft bearing holder off? is it supposed to come off and whats my best approach to splitting the cases(everything is unbolted i believe)

Re: My CB750 Project(new pic) need some help

good still confused on the countershaft bearing holder...havnt gotten a chance to work on it(too much real work) and i still need a little guidance for splitting the cases

Re: My CB750 Project(new pic) need some help

never mind i got it just had to pull a little harder and someone help me with how i should start to split my cases i dont want to mess anything up

Re: My CB750 Project(new pic) need some help

Glad to hear ya got it. Do you have the service manual? I know the hondabond between the cases can act like a glue......

Re: My CB750 Project(new pic) need some help

I took this from another post so I can't take credit but this should help out, But this is a great description of how I do it.

Get all the bolts out then flip upside down.

"You shouldn't have much trouble splitting the cases, if all the bolts are out. There's 25, 26 or 27 6mm and 8mm bolts, depending on year, and 10 8mm nuts with washers. Don't miss the one in the starter area, and three across the back, and two to four in the countershaft area.

Also, remove the gearshift arm and the mainshaft bearing retainer. Finally, this picture should help with a pry point: it won't take bu a single jerk on this shaft, levering against the bottom case, to pop them apart if all bolts are out. The gasket compound (sealant) doesn't have a lot of grip." Hondaman

Re: My CB750 Project(new pic) need some help

yea i have the service manual but it doesnt seem to say which way the cases should be(bottom up or bottom down) and a good place for a pry point but thanks to tweakin i should be able to figure it out and seemingly the general consensus is that the cases should be upside down

Re: My CB750 Project(new pic) need some help

so after taking my time i have sucessfully split the cases without damaging anything
