Got the top removed and all the hardware out of the way. Hit it with some 320 grit paper on an orbital sander to clean things up. I picked up a can of plastic adhesion promoter that will be going on next.
I got the plastic adhesion promoter laid down and two light coats of filler primer. Still looks pretty rough. Not sure if I should live with it and just sand it a bit or take it all the way back down or even throw on more filler....
After some back and forth, I decided to sand it all back down again to remove the rough spots. I was hoping to be done sooner rather than later with this project, but I actually want it to look good, so....
Having had one of these before, are you using anything in the paint to keep it flexible? These boxes twist and flex a lot while opening and closing. Hate for you to get this all painted to have a big chunk fall off from flexing.
