My dream of a RD

thats true but we have like zero 400´s in austria, the 350 are rare too and if there is one....its expensive.
this 250 is cheap so it wont hurt me if i break it ;-)

The 250 is a good bike, if I could get one for cheap I'd go for it. Personally this is my favorite aircooled RD model.

I want that tank sir.
I wonder if I can find one on ebay somewhere in europe?

I didn't say you should but I would just cause it's the same bike with a bit more balls.

The RD350LC was the pinnacle of that line, but they never got sold in the US. Tons of them still on roads in Canada and Europe.

i ride a yamaha ds7 (250) every day around town, freeways, backroads. I can keep it at a steady 75 for 18 miles.

Well if we are including the elsie, I would definately go for that for sure it's an awesome bike. I remember they did the production racing series in the UK when the elsie's came out. I think you will find in the states it's an RZ350LC. I would love to have one for my collection.

i personally prefer aircooles models over watercooled.
altough the watercooled are more technically advanced:)

The RZs got the plastic fairing and the YPSV valve. But, for the US, they got a catalytic converter.

This one is pretty:

This was the last fast-enough lightweight bike for younger riders. You could get very quick and get out of trouble easily. After this bike, the 600s took over and got more and more power until people started getting killed in higher and higher numbers.

Now, we're back to the sales leaders being the 250-400 class worldwide. Yamaha will bring back the RD350 in 2015, but it will be a sport 4 stroke.

Canada briefly got the RZ500..it was a mad sport bike, ~80hp, all at once at near 10,000rpm. It was scary to ride.

What happens after 18 miles??? Run out of gas? Engine seizes? .......

He hits 88 mph and is instantly transported back to the 0 mile mark.
It makes long distance travel difficult.
