New Ace Arrived

Hey Haz, I would love to be able to make you a system but I have had a nightmare doing the front part of system ...

... was only kidding mate ! - am very happy with my single, from 00racing ... your bike's coming along very nicely, love the angled mufflers, reminds me of a Ducati Monster rear end.

Can't wait to see pics of it all together, and maybe a sound file of the bike in the end.

Keep up the great work. Always enjoy your updates.

Haz

Quick up date for you guys. Got the front pipe wrapped and fitted (what a pain lol). The front end is done, new pads fitted, mud guard fitted and switch gear sorted. New tyre fitted to rear and new set of brake shoes. Made a tank strap (needs polishing). Still waiting on the sticker i'm having done for the tank and the paint is drying on the seat hump. Just finished for the afternoon cant wait to get back in the garage tomorrow.

Didn't get as much as i planned done today but she's nearly there. Got a lot of little jobs to do then a final double check everything is tight and ready to go. Hopefully she'll be ready for first ride at the weekend. I will put some better pictures on once she all done.

I really like the paint job and mods you've made - very cool.

The black paint with red pin stripe gives it a Batmobile look from the 1960's Batman TV series with Adam West. And we all know how cool the Batmobile was.

Maybe you should rename it the BatAce and get yourself a cape.

Absolutely love the rear end !! - her most striking & uniquely distinguishable feature, for sure ... can't wait to hear what she sounds like.

Hope you will post a sound file or video of her running.

Awesome job, very impressive indeed.

Haha mark now that you've said it i cant stop thinking batman. My friend has been winding me up say i have to get flying goggles and a white scarf for when i go out maybe a cape would be better.

Haz, had her running yesterday and she's a bit on the loud side so have ordered some exhaust packing today to calm her down a bit. I dont want her too loud as my girlfriend will be riding her on L plates and dont want the old bill hassling her when she's out or it will put her off riding. I'll take some video at the weekend, whether or not i can work out how to post a clip is another thing.

Thanks for all the positive comments, cant wait to try get another one and try some of the other ideas i have.

at first thought they would catch on fire ? all ok thou
but hey batman was cool !

... might try this in my 00racing performance silencer. I love the deep bass at idle, but it sounds a little 'tinny' at higher rpm's, hope the scourer inserts can trim off some of the trebles ! - so I don't feel so bad opening her up and giving her hell ! hehe

As a backup, I also ordered one of these ... just in case !

Ok, this probably does not apply to you guys in Australia nor in Europe, but it could happens one day though. Since everyone is so happy with M45/Pilot Sporty, I thought I might as well go with it, but I'm having real problem getting either Michelin M45 or Pilot Sporty in HK. Michelin HK says, "is such a awkward size and not very popular at all in Asia", they decided to withdraw the product from HK/China/Macau. It can still be ordered through Thailand, but which is made in Thailand not Europe anymore.

Where does your M45/Pilot Sporty is made? Anyone knows?

Has anyone have experiences with Bridgestone or Dunlop?

not sure this is the best thread for this question, can we get it moved to a specific tyre thread? Mods about?

i may need one of these also as i will be deaf soon and wont be able to hear the police chasing me on my horrifically loud 125!
where did you order your baffle from?

Mine is very loud too - I tried a homemade baffle tube similar to the above but it made little difference but I then found the absorbtion glass fibre packing had been blown out so I have bought some better quality packing and will give that a try .

Mine is straight through "silencer" with just a screen 100mm from the outlet .

Well I have repacked the silencers tonight, bought some packing that is supposed to expand once the heat gets to it but as i haven't been able to ride the bike yet I'm not sure if its had enough heat through it yet. First impressions are its gone from proper crackers ear bleeding loud to just plain old crackers sore ears loud. Hoping to get a few miles done at weekend but have a feeling i might be going down the wire wool road to get it sorted.

Mmm, that's what I've bought and was hoping to get away with - without having to put pan scourers down the exhaust . Suppose its good news it did reduce the noise a bit ......will get mine repacked this weekend and give it a try , don't want it too quiet but its a bit too "attention grabbing" at the moment for me.
