Hi guys and gals,
Long time car nut and bike admirer here.... I've been wanting to pull the trigger on a two-wheeled vehicle for a few years now, and finally got around to it last week.

Plans were to pick up something that needed a little work, wrenches don't scare me, and go for a tasteful cafe look. As it turns out, I stumbled across an excellent original condition 1975 Honda CB500T and plan on leaving it alone, keeping it safe and in good running condition, and just enjoying it.

I came across this bike on Ebay and drove two hours to Pittsburgh to pick it up.

First thing it's getting is a pair of new tires, brakes flushed and inspected, oil change, fresh gas, charging system checked, carbs synced and idle adjusted. After that it's time for some fun! Look forward to learning a lot from all of you as this is my first motorcycle, and can't wait to get out on the back roads.

Here are a few of my other toys....
The Anthracite '76 2002 is actually my wife's. She drives it every day in the summer.

Re: Noob from Northeast Ohio here

Glad to hear you're keeping this one original. It's too nice to cut up. By the way, I believe that brown leather seat was a one year only feature. Take care of it!

Oh yeah, it's way too clean to change anything. Like I said, originally, I was looking for more of a project to customize, but this one was the right price. I really like how original it is. To be completely honest, while I knew I was probably going to end up with a Honda CB something, I didn't do much research into the 500's. I was looking more at the 350's and 360's as I felt the 750 would be too much for a beginner. I bought this on an impulse as the auction was ending, so any advice related to the 450's and 500's is much appreciated. I loved the brown on brown too.

Glad to see you aren't hacking up that bike, I ran into a similar dilemma with a cb360 a couple years ago. Love the 2002s by the way! Every now and then a guy will show up with one at one of the autocrosses here in Des Moines and it seems to do pretty well.

Welcome! West side of Cleveland here. Got a great group and growing here in the Cleveland-AK/CT area. Watch for ride postings. Can't see your pics here at work, but it's funny- the brown on brown is a love or hate and me personaly never cared much for the brown seat. I do like the lines of the bike and the brown paint scheme though. Hopefully you can join us this season.

Matt

You got me drooling over those 2002's! I have a 2002 project ive been working on forever. Motor and suspension are done but the body needs attention.

Oh yea...nice bike, thats why were here right?
