new project (restarted) Finished!!! dust bin resurrected

Re: new project (restarted)

this is top 5 favorite builds on this site. kudos. awesome glass work and metalcraft.

Re: new project (restarted)

Ok rear sets are done, ordered the levers and linkages from motobits, so they should be here soon. Here are some pics.
Thanks all.

Re: new project (restarted)

Nice work on them and a clever design using a two piece construction, but it looks like they are still pretty far forward. They seem to be in front of the forward most part of the seat, which I think will turn what was like riding a miniature poodle into more like riding a standard beagle. With that length of tank, I think ideal peg location would be around the rear axle area. I know that would be rather difficult to pull off, but I am sure you could move them back at least 6 more inches. That would be a much more suitable position I think. It would help too though to see a pic of the bike with a rider on it!

Re: new project (restarted)

I put them were they were the most comfortable, by the rear axle would be crazy awkeward, I will try to get some pics soon of me on it for a better feel for scale, and ergonomic triangle.
Thanks guys,
Brad

Re: new project (restarted)

Quik update, the rear shocks are complete junk so I just scored some gas shocks on ebay. They have to be beter than the pogo sticks on there now.
Also here is were I am at with the dustbin. Trimed alot of the fat and extended the back by about 8 in. Going to keep screwing around with, no harm no foul!

Re: new project (restarted)

It looks better trimmed up. I have to admit that after seeing your work I'm pretty sure you can do no wrong and you will make this look breathe-taking

Re: new project (restarted)

thanks all, here are the complete rear sets, everything from motobits is realy nice stuff! New shocks also came in crazy $70 new and realy good quality. I am going to clean it up and try to post some good finished shots tomarow.
Thanks for looking.

Re: new project (restarted)

What did you use for the mag color paint? You've done a great job. I'm axiously awaiting the video. ;D

Re: new project (restarted)finished!!!

Well its done for now. I thought I could set up a little photo studio in my guest bedroom, but quickly realized photography is a bitch! so here is one, I am going to roll it outside this afternoon and take somemore. I will post the rest under show and shine. The mag paint is a three step, first dust it with dulicolor performance wheel paint (just for texture) then a coat of rustolium engine paint color is called cast iron I think, then while thats wet dust it with duplicolor universal gold engine paint. May be cheaper to buy pj1 honda case color match. Will also try to post vid tonight. Thank you to all who followed along and expressing your opinions, it always helps a build along.
My attempt at a glamour shot, not so sweet.
