thanks for your support and following this little guy. We are geting close now! a little more sanding and it will be ready for primer/paint. My girlfriend sewed me up a primative seat with canvas, and I am going to use a belt for the tank secure(early Kriedlers used something similar). I am haveing troble picking paint colors, I am thinking either grey tail (same color as the frame) and vintage white for the tank, or a play off of old hondas and do a metalic burgandy. Any opinions? here are some pics.
Somthing about that gold on the motor makes me think the tank and seat should have a warm feel with a play on the gold. I think a nice nutmeg brown with small gold flake would be a very nice compliment to the whole build. You could then use an off white and gray (that matches the frame) for a two pin stripe design on the tank and tail to tie it altogether.
Something like this:
Sorry for the shitty paint photo, but it is all I have to work with on my work PC!
Thanks everyone!!!! Thanks for the input and the illistration Twisted wheels! I agree with you totally, that color combo would be sick, however My design goal for this one is for it to feel like a vintage "privateer" racer barn find. I almost feel like that color combo would come off to "modern"
Really? I thought the nutmeg with small gold flake would be very vintage; my 1973 CB350f came from the factory with a deep olive green and small gold flake! Nutmeg was a popular color for early 70's Japanese cars; I think it was a Datsun color. The illustration in paint is by far not the colors, only a representation of the design.
I think you are correct twisted, Kawasaki would probly be thrown around a bit. I do keep coming back to red or burgandy. I have to flip a coin. Buff 125 are a absalute hoot! Thanks all for the imput!
There was a really incredible dark metallic red called Black Cherry (I believe) that was one of the few colors available on the '96 Chevy Impalla SS. It would look phenominal on the right bike. Cory
