Nope, mine's a cb, maybe they made cl fenders wider for knobby tires? I had a big dent right in front of the cut line, so that dictated how much I cut off. I also cut some off the back end of the fender.
So on your advice, i scored a CB350 fender for fairly cheap on ebay.
Today, i got delivery of some aluminum clip ons! Had my eye on the roccity stainless ones, but I needed a little offset to not hit the tank in tight turns.
Also got the coils cleaned up, painted, and got some oil in the fork. Took apart the front drum and lubed all the pivots. Was a good day!
She is coming along!
(fierce guard dog not included)
I'm having the same gas issue with my CL. With about 1/3 tank remaining. New petcock also. You solve yours yet? Just a dirty petcock? Build thread was a good read.
Turns out, the filters I had were too big, holding air, causing vapor lock. I removed filters, cleaned the petcock and used some clear hose to verify fuel flow.
Crap. I just got a cb fender off ebay to replace the CL one.... I figured the OD of the wheel wouldnt change, just the aspect ratio of the tire, but I guess thats a bad assumption lol.
On another note, as mentioned above, my fuel issue is fixed but I have founfd another problem. First ride out of the neighborhood, 5 mile loop, she is running great! Then we make turn to climb a hill, and she throws a fit, and stops running at the TOP of the hill thank God. I rolled down he backside of the hill, tried to dump the clutch and bumpstart it but she had none of it. Had to push it home a quarter mile.
I thought I fouled the plugs going up the hill, because both carbs had fuel, and it died slowly. The following morning I gave her a kick and she started up first try! I'm wondering if it has something to do with the small battery maybe not charging enough, or if the coils are dying with heat?
I think the slow dying issue has to be spark or ignition related. I know timing is dead on, points are gapped, and plugs are gapped. Curious why it dies on me...
On another note, started to do some body work on the seat and I started to remove the old peg/kickstand x over mounts.
Also, the place that makes the seat had a picture on their ebay auction that got me thinking. Should I lop off the frame completely behind the rear shocks? I dont think a standard loop would work with this seat either, as its not a circular bend, it has a decreasing radius in the middle.
I think you need to make sure you have enough clearance between the tire and bottom of seat/electrics tray at full suspension compression. Looks close.

I'm currently running 13 3/16" length shocks. These things are stiff! (and they're on the softest pre-load). I've got a solid 3 to 4 inches between top of tire and bottom of seat pan. I'd like to go lower on the shocks eventually, but for now I'll 'run what I brung'.
If you're lucky the CB fender will clear the tire. If it does, you'll have the added bonus of a close fitting fender which looks pretty cool.
Scored a nice CB fender yesterday. Took off the struts and did a test fit.
It will look great siting real low on the wheel.
Unfortunately, I'll have to make a new fender/strut mount to get the fender to sit where it needs to. I'll pop off the CL fender from the brace, and try to modify it to fit the CB fender.
