well... i have always been a meat head... always been in pretty good shape... but this past year between work, medical issues, and getting married i have really slipped into well... a fat kid
with my schedule and all i still have not alot of time... a buddy gave me P90x last week and i just finished my first week of it... man it is INSANE i have trained my whole life and was a personal trainer for years.. but this is by far the hardest, best put together, intense work out i have ever done

90 days and i will be jammin! then i head to Aruba for a buddies wedding ha ha ha

just wanted to share!

awesome man, im happy for you, that style/type of excersise is one of the most efficient fat burning and muscle building/toning work outs, keep it up and remember, nothing worth having comes easy.
so as we say here at dtt
DO IT!!
DO IT!!
DO IT!!
NOW!!! hahaha

I have several work buddies who swear by the routines. Everyone showed immediate results. One fella just started on his second cycle, and he is beginning to bulk up like crazy. Good on ya for getting it going again brotha.

Congrats, it takes a lot of discipline and I wish you success, I dont know if you creating a blog or even taking before and after pictures, but a lot trainers now are recommending doing that to keep motivated. I have set myself a goal, that by this coming spring to be able to run once around Midway airport which is 4 miles and by the summer to do a half of marathon. Are DVD's original or copies?

Do you need access to a gym for this? I can't afford a gym mebership but I need to get some exercise.

Ive herd allot of good stuff from people I talk to. I just started playing hockey for the first time in my life. We play once or twice a week and don't have any ice time for practice. Keep us posted, I may be interested myself.

no gym needed i do it in my living room... all i have set up is chin up bar, yoga mat, some dumbells, bands... that is it. the rest like walls and chairs come from my kitchen ha ha ha

as far as motivation... i have a wife that wants her 6 pack meat head back... and a brother that pushes me hard... they will keep me going, hell i will keep me going, i can not belive that in 9 months all the work that i put in for the past 15 years went away that fast... sucks... my fraternity brothers could not even recognise me... was embarasing to say the least.. time to get back to me!

Cool, I got to look into this then, my wife doesn't like the coversion of 6-pack to keg either :) I used to struggle to put a pound on, but mid 30's have made adding weight way too easy. Plus i have been putting my back out way easier than ever and i know it is being out of shape doing it. I like to eat so I got to exercise. Keep it up. I think I am going to see if I can grab a copy of the P90X and start it.

Started p90x this week as well. its tough biz but there are a bunch of us at work that are doing it. All in different stages. You can see the results.

Never knew I had muscles in some places.

good on you Joe and keep it up.

I remember going through boot camp. I started in at about 230# and 11 weeks later I was down to 189#! I went home a few weeks after boot' and everyone who knew me before was shocked. Right now my average low is about 209#. I would love to be a constant under 200#.

EDIT:

Thinking about picking this up myself so we can do it together.

just remember guys, more than half of results also depend of what you eat.
healthy diet is very important, everyting in moderation.
dont buy into those carb free diets and crap, they will never provide lasting results.

I just got all the stuff to do this including the videos. Need to stay in shape through the rough Michigan winter. looking forward to hearing about everyone else's fantastic results. no homo. lol

I have had it for 6 months now and have yet to try it...... no motivation, or time, maybe I will start now, get up early and do it before work, now that I have people to talk about it with.

JRK5892, Don't lose the dvds, if I remember right my P90x cost me around $140

Good stuff Joe, great to hear. I need to do the same as well. Since having kids (oldest is seven) I've gone to pot. Used to be in great shape before they came around. Can't seem to get the time now, but I'm going to have to find it, can't stand feeling like this.

I could stand to lose 20-25 lbs, and the funny thing is that who here wouldn't kill to be able to chop 20lbs off one of our cafes to make them lighter. Not much use making the bike lighter if I keep getting heavier ;D

I would be interested in a set if anyone has an extra set they want to sell, does not have to be new. Just looking for the DVD's only.

PM me

week 2 ends tomorrow! man i have to say... i feel unreal!!!! i have followed the nutrition guide, drank 2 g of water a day, and hit this work out hard... i have dropped 16lbs in 2 weeks... WAY to fast of a weight loss for me to be comfortable with... but i have a feeling i will be hitting the wall really soon... this workout is intense.. when i was in college one of my classmates did his Sr thesis on P90x, i really wish i would not have spent his presentation drawing up bike designs for my cb750! i was back in the books last night looking up comparisons in my nutrition courses.. have to say the guide is spot on
(I have my BA in sports med and exercise sci, minor in nutrition, apt certified, and PT as well)

Joe, are you following the meal plan they recommend or just the servings and the different foods they recommend? I am in my first week of it so far. It kicks your ass. I am hoping for some good results. I don't wanna bulk up and get huge just shed some weight and replace some fat with muscle by toning.

16lbs, holy shit that a lot for 2 weeks.
I twisted my ankle (doing something stupid) the first week so I've haven't done the cardio parts but Ive thinned out just from the diet and weight training.
I'll be going full on this week,

We'll have to do the dotheton p90x before and after shots

i am following the serving sizes... i am the picky'st fat kid you have ever met when it comes to food!
