I love it when packages show up earlier than expected :D, but I hate it when I have to wait to play with the goods

Bought this tonight. 9 years old with only 1000 miles on it. It's going to get some good adventure bits and armor and ridden all over the map.

Where's the first destination? That should be a ton of fun.

First destination will be mount Washington in May which is a weekend trip, then later in the year up through VT/NH to Montreal, past Montreal to the Tremblant area, then over to Quebec city, and back down.

at 100kph, (62mph) the problem is you, not the bike.
Probably need to get to the gym and improve your neck muscles ;D (or just ride more then the muscles you need develop 'naturally' ;) )

Definitely my non-aerodynamic self at play here... and the motorcross bars on the scrambler ;)

To be honest it's more nicety... after the 350km GS Resources ride the other day it was my legs that were sore rather than my neck which I was quite surprised at... definitely not bike fit with my aging body!

In Pete's defense, his bike isn't a "cafe". I'm surprised you haven't seen it PJ! It is a prime example of a scrambled restoration.

And thanks Pete! For you, I would look for just a detachable screen. On for touring, off for scorching Australia days.

Thanks for the kudos again Rich, and no, definitely not cafe :D

I'm thinking fly screen actually and I have a secret up my sleeve that noone on the GSR has seen yet and I haven't had time to revisit... I have a piece of acrylic perspex cut basically to shape... and that's where it's stalled for the moment...

Ooh! PJ, you should start a "selling" thread for those. I could use some.......about how many do you have for sale?

Hi Rich, not sure yet, going to see just how many brake plates I'm going to modify.
I'll PM you

Havn't Bought something Since I found out you can trade on Craigslist......Let the snowblower go for this little number......after dreaming of something different i'm Making a "Fish Bike" out of it

I can dig it.

YOu think about doing a custom fiberglass quarter-fairing to mimic a shark's mouth?

Good idea Catbird....Really just hammering away at the tail section 4 now bought some 18gauge and cut the first 2 fin's out trying to work the metal right now........I am trying to source some Used Angel eye R1 or 636 Headlights ( they have a nice eyeball shape) I like to build around parts I already have it helps me to envision the final product

Nice If you are coming down through NB out of Quebec to the 95 in Maine, let me know I can put you up for a night or 2 and maybe ride a stretch with you. I am right on the Maine NB border at the I95 in Woodstock.

Desmo, you can probably cut some weight considerably by using ABS plate stock, though that can be tricky to work curves into if you're not used to heat-forming plastics. That, and ABS presents a minor durability concern.

Only two things seperate him from the rest of us, his left testicle and his right testicle.

I just read that somewhere, and I can't remember where.

Why yes, yes they are. Best slather them up with some grease and tuck them away.
