Post a pic of your latest purchase

Picking this up Remembrance day weekend. Dad in Law got it for $250, titled and almost running. My winter project will be to get it safe and running and knock some of the ugly off. 82 CX500, poor mans guzzi, so will look to the Italians for style ideas. Should be alright to get going.

This belongs to a friend of mine in RVA. It is definitely a diamond in the rough and I believe he has two of them. I mentioned I would post a picture for him so if anyone is looking for Turbo CX500 let me know. I can put you in touch with the owner.

Yep, the guy was asking 400 but when my wifes cousin went to look at it it wouldn't start and so he told the guy he wouldn't pay more than 250. He knew why it wouldn't start but the guy wanted it gone so he had room in his garage and took the 250. Pretty sure the broken choke cable was to blame. I'll know more once I get my hands on it, do a compression test and adjust the valves. I need to find a service manual for it now to download.

Wow Autotek, those things are collectable as hell, You can put them on Ebay and make some good $$. The 650's are a little rarer. I know a former honda dealer with 4 of them, all in new condition sitting in his showroom waiting to be sold off when he retires.

I have the Honda manual for the CX but its in separate PDF's for each section. Let me know if you need it and I can put it in my Dropbox and send you the links.

Thanks, I found it on google docs and will download it from there. Can't wait to get my hands on it to start working on it. I only had a few things to do on the GL this winter so this project will fill my bike needs over the cold months. And the fact I have a garage and shop in the basement really makes it nice. No cold frozen shed to work in.

Helluva score Maritime, your Dad-in-Law done good!
And Autotek... you ought to take that Turbo off your buddy's hands. ;)
You know I have too many projects now. The funny thing is when I was 16-17 years old I ran through 2 cx500s and 1 cx650 in about a year and a half. Blew um up! Those were my first cafe ventures, which meant shaving the signals and lowered bars! haha Damn I just wanted to go fast! I remember one of them would peridically get hot and seize up. After it cooled I would ride it away. Needless to say it didnt do that too many times. Kind of gave me a bad taste for the model in general. My dad tried to rebuild one of them and I remember the engine in about 1000 pieces in the shed, and thats how it stayed. haha, I guess he bit off more than he could chew. :) That was 1988 and I still cant get the memory of all those case guides and bolts every where. Add a turbo, not my idea of fun. I know my personal limitation. :) I will however gladly help in the rescue of this fine motorcycle to the right person!

I'm looking for a nice Valkyre shirt for my father in law

Sent from my DROID RAZR

the guy last rode it a year and a half ago and said the only problem it had was after about 15 mins of riding, the right carb didn't seem to be "ask for gas" any more. idk what that means, but it seems fairly simple. other than that, it's just a lot of surface rust. other than some light rust on top, the tank is perfect, not a single dent on it!

Working on this deal for a few weeks. Going to put up a 12x16 storage shed/shop on the corner of the property. 1966 Mid century modern style. 3br, 2 ba. New hardwood floors, fresh paint & carpet. .75 acres, in town, wooded lot at end of dead end street. Creek borders front of the property. Wife is happy. Baby is happy. I'm happy. 8)
$78,900 with about $9,000 of incentives from the seller to us.
