It is about time she got a special treat for putting-up with all us mongrels.
Congratulations Denise you definitely deserve this. ;)

Absolutely Mike! She does deserve it, and after seeing how much she really enjoys riding, it is worth every penny. It was in the 30s last night and she hates the cold but she was grinning ear to ear after our ride.

Within this month, probably.

Lets see a price and a prototype when you've got one. May be just the thing to sink in the dash cover when i add my clip ons.

If the price is decent I'm in.

This arrived earlier in the week:

Gnars...there comes a point in life where you have to do the right thing. And what can I say, my wife loves to ride, so I feel like I'm the lucky one honestly. And Rich, I do believe that my wife would slap me if I touched this bike. She did approve the rear fender delete and this however. That'll be about the extent!

Yea! I know. Shes been hounding after the Repsol edition one. I've been looking around and the cheapest cbr250 I can find is 3000 and that's way out of my price range. I think Ill go sell a kidney. you don't need those right?

New hardware for the 550. Also built a kit of stainless bolts for the carbs by matching the shite originals at the hardware store.

18" of glory and 2.5 HP should do the job nicely its 76" tall and 400 lbs.
Im excited. Could have bought a bike or two for the money haha

Which kit did you get? Trying to find the sweet spot in their different kits in anticipation of wiring up a couple bikes.

I got the CK-2 kit, which was just shy of a hundred bucks to my door. Looked to me to be a better deal than the 'one-bike' kit, and the next kit up didn't necessarily.

This looks to have plenty of bullets for me to screw up several times - and plenty of heads-up time to get more next time I'll need 'em. I'm happy as a clam - thanks to everybody who cracked wise in my thread!

With the correct crimper it's unlikely you'll screw that up (compared to using pliers, hammer etc)
Your way more likely to forget to put the insulators on (just don't ask ;) ::) )

My latest purchase after a lot of cutting and machining. The chunk of aluminum has become a wheel for the sidecar and the mounting plate was a piece of 1/2" steel. Cut and shaped with my trusty angle grinder. In case you wonder why 1/2". There is a rule requiring ballast So why no make the mounting heavy?

Will the wheel abrade on the salt? (even slight toe in?)
I guess you could weld up a steel tyre and shrink it on?

It'll be fine. There are three sidecars running alloy wheels on the salt with no ill effects. And there is one 217 mph streamliner running two alloy wheels (front) with no problems. I won't be running any toe in. I've found it unnecessary for LSR.
