Just got this today.

You will officially be a Hooligan once you ride it. You cannot focus enough to keep that front wheel on the ground.

They are the best handling, most wheelie prone bikes (other than old 2 smokers) around.

I particularly like the GT1000, but any of them will do.

Yeah. Good bike and I got it for a pretty good price. Under four grand out the door and I got them to put a brand new set of tires on it, too.

Full service history from the original owner (I'm second guy to own it) was a nice touch, too.

Now I'm just waiting and praying for more sunny days! ;D

Nice! What size and year is that? I'm in the process of buying a 98 M900s

2007 695. Only put 50 miles on it so far, but they were smooth and fun.

Seating position isn't far forward as I would have thought and the bike is low and stable. The L-twin takes a bit of getting used to after my I-4, but it smooths out over 4,000 RPM. 6th gear is only needed on the freeway and the highways were fine in 4th and 5th. In town up to 40mph or so is second gear. A lot more torque than I would have expected but no slouch on power, either. Pulls HARD after 7,000 RPM.

Now you can join all the Ducati riders that actually say out loud in their helmet:
"AWESOME" while listening to the sound of their engine riding down the road. ;D

lol... second day in and I've already done that. Seriously.

I'm assuming it's kind of normal for these things to feel lumpy at lower RPMs? 4,000 RPM and it smooths right out, but it feels more like a thumper at 3K and under.

nice machine !! ;D
most modern v-twins are not happy being lugged i know my TL1000r is not happy down there either

Yup. It's a noticeable difference from the I-4 I sold last month. It's much happier being revved, but I just wanted to make sure that was normal. Even with the parallel twins I've ridden, they're OK once above 2,000 RPM (if a bit slow), but the L-twin doesn't seem to like it. 4,000 RPM or better seems to be the sweet spot.

I just checked the numbers and peak torque is actually at 6,200 RPM, so that makes sense.

My buddy has an ST3s. Same issue . A good valve adjustment (I did it with him) smoothed it out to 3000 rpm. Lower than that they are lumpy and bucking.

A more open exhaust will make that engine sing. I can listen to a Duc sing all day.
