Ha ha... thanks man! It's fun! I buy almost all my helmets second hand too....

Nice. I need to keep my eyes out. Currently borrowing a helmet from a friend till I find the right one for myself. Really want a 3/4 but don't want to pay $100 + for one.

Anybody know whats special about this kind of "knife"?

8) It's a Khukuri, used by the Nepalese Gurkha. My dad served with some of those guys in Korea. Top shelf warriors! 8)

More accuratly his units section of the front lines, was adjacent to the British section, the British employed the Gurkha as mercenaries. ;)

Caught the presidents day sale at Sears and used an additional coupon to get this 6' storage cabinet much cheaper. I've been trying to find a used shop storage cabinet and finally opted for this one. Now I get all the motorcycle parts, solvents, and other nasty bits off the floor. Good timing since the rugrat will arrive in 6 weeks. My wife was very happy with this purchase.

Very nice. I was going to buy one like that, but ended up finding an antique metal 7ft cabinet lying in my warehouse...

Yeah, I read about them when I was a kid. I was a bit of a war geek, til I got older and realized what it was truly about. Anyway, I found the British Army's selection process interesting. Also, during the Falkland War, Argentinian troops actually deserted their posts when they received word that Gurkha units were approaching...

P.S. Ever see the Filipino SF Bolo? Machette based fighting knife. More short sword than knife. I don't think you can buy one privately... yet. Reminds me of Crocodile Dundee's phrase, "Y' call that a noif? This's a noif!"

Well, spent 100.00 and I am not sure what I got myself into. We really don't have the money but since my little guy took the Yamaha course he has been asking for a dirtbike. I ended up with 2, a Chinese Baja 50 and a 81 Suzuki DS80. Hoping to get both running and I will ride the 80 while he rides the 50 and as he grows he can move up to the 80 and maybe I will get a 250 or something. No papers for the bikes so they will be just used on my in-laws cottage property for now.

The 50:

Hope to find a repair manual for the DS as it is my first 2 smoke bike, the 50 is a 4 I think, I haven't gotten that good a look out of either bike yet. I know I can get a complete motor and carb for 120 on ebay if the 50 is toast, the frame etc. looks salvageable at least.

Maritime, that's awesome! I would rock those any day (around the yard of course).

If there's any little parts I can help with, let me know.

Thanks guys! I need to look over what I am missing from each bike. I need a service manual for the DS for sure if I can score one. The 50 I think I can handle without as it is a 4 stroke. Both motors turn, I will have to check compression on them for sure. The guys said the ds blew the base gasket and that was what he took it apart to fix but I have to check the bore and the rings and piston etc. to decide if a bore job in needed etc. IT will be slow for sure as we have a budget of 0 right now but a lot can be done with just cleaning and painting etc. I am really excited and so is my son. Father - son time in the basement. At least these bikes are small enough to wheel out in one piece :) Also if anyone has a carb for a DS80 I would love it, the one with the bike is missing a few parts.

This Brembo disk came in the mail today to join the caliper I got the other day. These two items plus the braided line I got = I have a project tomorrow!
