And some new shocks

Did you modify the tank yourself?

For a nice daily rider, 2004 r6 with 9k miles on it. I've had it for 4 months and it's got about 13k on it now.

I tend to agree with hoof. I have built numerous bikes- cafés, trackers, etc. I only use rusted out shit buckets for these builds. I have come across about 5-6 beauties just like yours and have simply cleaned, fixed , and sold as stock to fund the other builds. Just can't see cutting up a nice bike like the one you have.

You guys are right, I'll just have to buy another. Nothing wrong with that.

Of course we're right. There's plenty of junk out there to be cutup and transformed. Your model is just too clean and original. There can't be too many left that nice.

I did, it was really easy, mark out on one side the shape then copy it over to the other side. Used a teardrop hammer and a small ball pein hammer for the finner areas. Just make sure you take the petcock out first and try to hammer it while it's on the frame. I didn't and had to pull the tank apart a bit because hammering it smushed it together a bit and wouldn't fit over the frame. Just allot of body work to smooth it out after. There are tutorials on YouTube and here is my build thread http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=50116.0

Bought this a few months back. Had a more slim seat made for it. Changed blinkers and bars out. Installed better headlight with an OEM looking bucket. I just bring myself to tear this bike down for a frame off. Runs great. Real clean engine. 1979 KZ650B
