I know this was already covered but I think the striping looks that way on the screen just because of the contrast in colors, which is sweet!

I saw the X on a cafe racer when browsing the net, before I started my build, so the first thing I did after buy the 360 was slap an X on the headlight, I liked the look and left it. I know at the track we tape up lights on street bikes, to minimize broken glass/plasic on the track.

It's my understanding that's the same reason they did it back in the day....keep the roadway clear of glass for other riders. Great bike, Pete.
Edit: I go to Pipeburn this morning for my daily dose, and I see the "Top 10 of 2010" post, and what do I see but Cafe Pete's bike as #1.

Saw the same thing this morning! I must say I felt very proud and honored to have watched this baby mature from birth and blossom into the work of art it is today. Good on ya man!

and wired it up to the $12 trailer light and instant running and brake light.
Off the shelf it's only a brake light, but I had a left over led tail light from my 2001 R6, so I removed the control boardlhpegram said:
