I like that you kept the original tool box on the bike yet painted it red. Small details on this bike make it rock. I am also working on a 71 CL450, so your project is great inspiration. Thanks
Another month gone by and still no tank! I guess thats what i get for a friend of a friend through a favor kind of deal. Oh well, its not like the weather here has been any good for riding anyway. In the meantime i think i have got her just about buttoned up. Wiring is done for the most part, all the vital things at least. All linkages and cables are in order, rear section is done and polished. New 2 into 1 exhaust finshed and wrapped, i mounted the Yosh can, but i am not in love with it so that will eventually change. Tonight i am going to put some fuel to her and see if she will make some noise!!!!

Hi All! A quick update on the bike. After a super busy summer, which hasn't left much time for the bike, i have her about 98% complete and have been able to put about 100 miles on her. I am still working out the standard gremlins that come along with a 40 year old bike, but so far I haven't had to push it home yet(Knock on wood!) I made a fiberglass seat pan so i could get a real seat made, and had the tail section reworked a little to fine tune the transition to the tank. The seat should be done next week and a little polishing on the tail and new rear splash guard, just in time for Rockerbox next weekend! I will post some real photos when she is complete, but for now here are some more progress pics.
Cheers, Mike
Whatever happened! You get 99.9995% done and never put up pictures? This thread was a great read and I'm thinking about starting a CL450 project of my own. I want to see how she ended up!
