More bits today, including my Do the Ton T-Shirt in the Dime City cycles box. I got the new pistons/rings and a set of front blinkers, also a pile of stuff from the machine shop. 8)
Re: My 1974 CB360 project, updated photos, HELP with puzzle 3/18
Somebody help me identify the 2 seals, 1 gasket and 2 o-rings circled. I don't recall what they are for, I just got the Athena gasket kit and there is not item list.
There are 2 sorta really wide o-rings that go around 2 of the locating pegs between the head and the cylinders to keep the oil in the back out side 2 studs from leaking out. Those are the oil passages to the head. # 3 on the diagram below.
The other 2 are possibly # 24 on that diagram for the oil pump, they go behind it.
To be honest, if it doesn't leak leave it alone. All I did to mine was flush it really well, clean it off and paint it. It hasn't leaked and does a great job.
There is special set of snap ring plyers to get the snap ring out. That's all I know about it.
Another small update, installed my drilled rotor and front caliper. Waiting for MC rebuild kit. Progress has slowed a bunch. I took the valve seals out of the head and the new ones in my gasket kit are not even similar
I put the tach back together this morning, I think it looks great. I have two extra overlays like this if anybody wants to Paypal me $12 shipped. incline@nb.aibn.com
I'm just trying to figure out how to fold the edge back down without scratching the paint.....
