Thanks man, yeah it'll probly need a baffle of some type. It should sound cool tho huh?!
Painted the tins burnt copper metal specks. Looks cool kind of matte finish like I guess. I layed the last coat on wet. It was kind of windy but I wanted to get it done...
just set the tank and fender on...I dunno it looks kind of goofy to me - the colors dont match. Oh well. I'll do some stripes on the tank or maybe spary it a different color. Who hates it and who likes it? let me know. Be honest -the honey badger dont give a shit! Maybe that should be its new name- "The Honey Badger"!
Yes, I will add the stripe for sure. Damn I love that orig orange color! I painted my 72 Chevelle and my 87 El Camino that color. White stripe or matte black...?
My engine is the only gloss on my bike. I sprayed matte clear over my tank and fenders. I really liked how it turned out. The only problem is the matte clear is not very resistant to gas on it. its not as tough as Id hoped. But the description was the best I could find. Im need to start looking for something better cause I want to re-spray tank before spring.
Rust-Oleum 7902830 American Accents Spray, Matte Clear, 11-Ounce
Finished up the mega just need to weld it onto the pipe and put a tab on to mount it to the frame. I used a cone pattern program to lay it out in paper and then transferred the pattern to the 22 gauge ss. I made a smaller inner cone to finish the end off a bit. I'll worry about muffling later.
I just thought of soemthing, I'd better check that the kicker clears the pipe.
Yeah trek97 I like the matte look of this paint. When you take in the sun it really sparkles too. It's got a lot of flake in it. So do you think the tank graphic should be in white or semi gloss black?
I like it. It looks like the way the exhaust is welded under the engine you can remove the exhaust now right? I tried doing something similar for a cafe I built but since the pipes come out of the head in a "V" I couldn't weld them together under the bike.
I'll have to keep an eye out for an old SL350 so I can make a vintage super moto.
