sorry ffjmoore, i've been in a stasis for the last 15 months, along with the lil red bastard.
i had to gut the wiring completely, hadn't been able to start easily in the first place, ended up being nigh on impossible. burnt CDI i think, anyway - got a complete loom with key switch, run toggle/e-start button, coil, plug, cdi, reg/rect for $120
wired it up in situ and managed to battery start it, meaning...
IT LIVES
still revs itself to 5k odd. pipe got hot within 20 seconds, and the starter relay didn't click with my insitu wiring.
so... massively lean carby requires tuning, need to build a proper electronics box and cradle for the battery, then hopefully time for a test run.
some of my shortcuts taken earlier piss me off now (grips, levers, indicators) so i'll replace them as i go - the clutch is seized and the lever/cable, although sturdy, never quite seemed to work.
i'll get photos over the next few days, but visually nothing's changed yet.
hi everyone!
