But! Your bike, your vision, your money. And no matter what you build, you can't please everyone. So do it for yourself and your own validation.
Building bikes are like an artist painting his/her master piece... Extentions of our personality. Think Salvador Dali held back his visions because of what someone said? Lol "dude, that melting clock can't keep time, you shouldn't do that...." Hahaha.
Heck. If I listened to all the negitive bs from others, I would have never build my dream bike... and I wouldn't be loving it everyday like I do now. I say the negative Nancy's pushed me to keep going... Prove them nah-sayers wrong... But most important, I build my vision, not theirs.

Ended up with a Ducate 748 swinger. Wheelbase worked out to 57".
Though, still not entirely done with the bike. This has been kind of a pet project to do in spare time.
I'm hoping I have the time to get it broken down and painted, and back together in the next week.

I like and apriciate the look of a single sided swingarm but I'd worry about the flex on these old frames they are bad enough with dual shocks and factory swingarms. I'd love to know how it ides tho... For really no reason at all... Also would one of the old ducati tube style swingarms work, that would look sharp
I think the tubular swinger are wider at the pivot. The 748 just barely fit with the spacers to center the wheel.
It rides great for what I built it for. To hop around bars, and ride around at shows. It has a moderate amount of bracing, but I put it back together to see where I had space for more gussets. When I pull it back apart to paint the frame and wheels, it'll be further braced.
