SixtyNine!

...and you people say *I* have cool toys to play with!......
I'm jealous as all HELL Kit...that's very cool!

Well that goes both ways, I'm jealous of your toys too, I miss the Hobart lathe that we had back at Ignition (my last job) and it wasn't even centered right.

Wow Kit! That looks amazing! What machine are you using? Just a vertical mill??

We've got 4 HAAS 3 axis mills (VF3, VF2, VFOE, and a VF0) The top was on the VF0 and the base on the VF3 (our largest mill)

I don't know if I'll be making any extras or not, but it is pretty fitted to a 360 frame (assuming it does fit) Also this is just the beginning of it, it might end up kinda complicated by the end. What is it that you like about it Joe? It's kind of a standard cafe hump, maybe pointier. Or is it that it's cut out for the frame? Or just the shape in general?

Thanks all, she's coming along. She's even back on her feet now, it's been a long time since I had SixtyNine looking at all like a motorcycle outside of a computer.

it is for sure pointy(r) than other seats out there, keeps a low sleek look i love that! if you look at the last seat i made has alot of those lines to it, i am not a big fan of the "bump" look i like a much sleeker flow to it

Frame cut-out plus the fact that hides the rails is pretty slick.

There are too many things I'd love to know how to do, and unfortunately on don't think CAD/CNC milling is one that I'll ever get to. Hell, I don't even own a welder yet.

You know, I was just wondering: between building a bike, reading pop fiction and photographing chubby chicks, where does one find the time for cnc? I mean, really?

Wow, that's a ton of work you've done and it looks great, I never thought of using the gap filler that way but thanks for opening up my horizons.

So cool man. I wish I had a couple days with a machine like that. Would love a foam buck to make a tank. Guess Ill just do it the old fashioned way...

If Kit is doing this I need proof! Inspiration for the curvy lines I suppose?

Come now...Kit doesn't do that. He's puts his pics on the public domain, and we've seen them.

Kit: I need to stop by and see these projects in person. Plus, I have some ideas to chat over.

I think Chris must've been talking about you, because I sure don't know what he's on about... we haven't talked in a while though, so maybe he's forgotten who I am :)

Fitted her up the other night and she slides on like a dream. Actually about an inch farther back than I had anticipated though, but that will probably end up a good thing... little more room for the boys.

I'll probably have to cut a little more clearance out for the tire, looks like an accident waiting to happen as it stands

LOL. I'll tell you over a beer sometime :) I leave for London and the Netherlands next week until Oct. Let's get together and I'll explain it then. My RD motor is still in pieces.

sixtynine is looking good. I was hoping you'd pick this project back up. It's finally getting cool enough to work in the garage...and I'm leaving.

I've been working with a friend of mine to get some of the surfacing done and I think it's there, at least for the initial buck.

This was the first draft:

It's super exciting to see it all shiny, but it's still a bit boxy at the bottom and flat on the sides.

so this is revision 2

Right now I'm working on knocking out a little 6th scale model of it in renshape so that I can fondle it for real before going full size.

Exciting!... for me at least.

Kudos on the time and effort you've put into this so far. I think it's safe to say it will likely be worth it.

It may not look it, but a lot of time has gone into this top end, deburring and reshaping, and it's far from done. Don't ask me to tell you why I do it, anyone who asks wont understand the answer.

It's actually kind of satisfying thinking about the fact that with every stroke of the file the bike is just a little bit lighter.

we are all guilty.....

Mysta,
I really love that mock up! soo smooth... man i wish i was as good at slinging Cad as you are... i suck! very basic for me like risers and spikes... thankfully our CNC guy is a guru so i dont hve to use it much... very smooth flow!
Chris you have any updated pics of that scoot man!?

woot!

It does still seem pretty chubby... still not entirely sure where my legs are going to go. It's still only about 17inches wide at the widest part (the massive tumor on the right side)
