Small rant

"Hey, I know I'm new here and haven't made an introduction yet but here is my bike, I'm ONLY wanting $6,000,000,000.00 OR BEST OFFER for it"

On another note, I just revived one that was 2 yrs old or so on some plastidip stuff because I wanted to get better pics and see how it held up as I am thinking about doing that for some temporary solutions to get ideas on colors before I do more permanent options (paint, powder, etc.). A $5-7 can of plastidip is worth it to make sure the color looks good and that is how I want it....

I can't remember ever reviving an old thread for "nice bike" etc.

Hell I didn't even know about the dime city discount and didn't get any code... Don't even want one for that matter.

Hmmm... I wonder if its possible to brand all of "them" with a "10% er" avatar... :) but yeah, I hate the epidemic too. Unfortunatly none of them will ever read this because it requires the act of READING, which they are incapable of...

Lol. So true.

This has been pissing me off royally for weeks now. It seems like it just became an issue all of a sudden. I've PMed at least 4 people telling them to cut it the duck out.

Clutch...I get what he's saying and I agree. I just always hope that ppl didn't think I posted for the discount whenever I posted.

Nah, we know you're legit... afterall, you've stuck around past 100 posts and have an avatar!

Island, I don't think you're the target of this "rant." Everyone at some point has left a short comment of encouragement. Just like everyone has started off as the new guy who may not know that much about bikes. Before I joined this site I knew almost nothing about bikes and now I have refurbished and customized two bikes. Still, in the full scheme of things I probably know barely anything compared to some of these members. I'm on this site multiple times everyday, always learning something new. That's what the site is for and what the discount is intended for. It's something nice that DCC does as kind of a pat on the back for getting involved in the vintage bike community. It's something nice to help us out and pay it forward. When people come on the site and post 100 posts, in dead threads, saying two words they're taking advantage of the system, and if everyone keeps doing that the 10% discount might not stick around. It took me a whole bike build plus some to reach 100 posts and I'm on here almost everyday. I've bought stuff from DCC before I got the discount and after and I appreciated the savings as much as I appreciate all the help and input I've gotten from other members here. Pretty much what I'm getting at is these guys with their bs posts are ruining a good thing.

OK I guess I am a complete D.A. I have noticed the afore mentioned posts as well but never related it to someone trying to get a discount. Now that I have been enlightened.
IT IS TEN FREAKIN PERCENT PEOPLE!
A very nice jester by the vender, but, is it really worth all of that to save a couple bucks. Or are these yahoos trying to buy a grand worth of stuff at once?

I wish DCC would do away with it or offer it for a serious amount of posts like 500.

This guy is working over time.

4 pages TODAY.

Yep trek, that's the guy that peed in my cheerios about it today. I responded to several of his posts with the same message.

Or maybe put it on a timer hahaha, if you post 99 posts in under say a week, you can't post the 100th for another two weeks.
Although a few regulars might not like that one too much ahhsha

Ya know, if the posts were more like "handmade purses" and "Nike shoes on sale" instead of "nice tank" and "awesome video", the poster would be labeled as spam and their account deleted. Maybe something worth looking into?

While we are on the topic, what do we get for 10,000 posts? I might have about 990 one liners to knock out tonight.....

All this over a whopping 10 cents per dollar discount. Big freaking deal. It's 10cents, for fucks sake. I found this site several years ago, left it in 2010, came back last year or early this year. Long enough back that Leon and Von were squabbling over who wanted some ratty piece of crap Rickman chassis and tank, and Go Mama was still just Go. I found the forum via one of Roc City's ads in an early Cafe Racer Magazine issue.

I've talked to the guys from DCC, was rather impressed. Nice of them to offer the 10%, but hell, their price is already better on a lot of things than most of their competition. Beats the hell out of a pay to play loyalty club like J&P has, but seriously, jacking up your post count to save 10 fucking cents per dollar? They deserve more respect than that, and if I was them, watching it happen, I'd yank the whole thing. One bad apple and all that related bullshit...

Not that I order anything from DCC, but if that were the case it would be the year 2016-2017 before I got a discount!
