socal cb360T build

Cross drilling gives you no added brake performance 9less surface area), it does look better though.

Yes i believe my clutch is slipping . I take off on first and i need to immediately change gears cause its like i am revving and going no wear!

Any one with any info on what to do or what to look out for please feel free to chime in . In the mean time i will be checking over my manual . Cheers

Not to be a dick, but if you actually read the thread you would of read that i just clear coated the frame with clear coat.
Dont just glance at pictures, read and learn about the bike you might be restoring, it might save you time and money .

I paint stript the frame with intentions to powder coat it blk again,Butt i feel in love with the bare frame. I wanted to just leave it bare like some old rat rod guys do to their cars, butt i did some research , and found out that you dont want that cause of how it can, and will weaken the frame. So i just clear coated it too seal the frame off . I live in southern C.A. where it is sunny almost 90% of the time,I wouldnt recommend it if you live in a state that has high humidity levels, rains,or snows often.

well I went over my manual. It said do to my symptoms it can be one of three things ,bad timing , clutch related, or my carbs main jet. So I decided to check the most obvious first I checked and took apart my carbs and sure enough my needle jet holder was barely screwed in to my carbs , so problem solved boys. I also found some kind of governor flat head screw that stops the throttle from opening all the way. Well I backed it out to get more throttle out of it, and ohhhhhhh boy my bike rips now :D . I dont know if it's bad to have this screw backed out, the bike seams to like it. Any one please correct me if this is bad . Either than that the bike is running great now :D

its where my finger is pointing

That's the throttle stop screw, it prevents butterflies going past full horizontal.
It should be set with carbs off bike, at full throttle

if i backed it out to far would it cause my throttle to get stuck in the open position? Ask me how i know!!!

Hey your bike looks great, I'm wondering what else if anything are you planning to do to it?
Would it be possible to get a picture of underneath the seat? I'm wondering how you did the battery tray and mounts for the seat. Thank you for sharing your build here!

Thanks Aim! As far as my build goes i am done for now, just enjoying riding it, and tuning up minor things. Maybe a little later down the line i was thinking of some mikuni carbs, and some reverse cone commando exhaust pipes. My bike is running great without them though! So if its not broke dont fix it, you know! I will take some pictures of the battery relocation for you when i get the chance , give me a couple days Cheers.

Today i noticed white smoke out of my right tail pipe today . It only happens when i accelerate , and only out of my right tail pipe. Any recommendations on what could be causing this symptom?

I'd guess a valve stem seal or rings but only way to know for sure is a tear down AFAIK. Look for signs of blow by and you'll be able to tell where the problem is coming from. You can also try a leakdown test, remove the oil filler cap an listen for air coming out (rings), and listen near carb and exhaust (valves). I would do a compression test first and if it's low then the leakdown to see where it's going. Leakdown won't tell you is yuo have a bad VS seal though, only if the valve itself isn't closing all the way (sealing).

If comprssion is good odds are it's a valve stem seal. Just my .02, good luck!

Aim i did a compression test i got 150 psi out of each side, i guess that is the bare minimum to not rebuild the 360 :D . I did notice a difference between my plugs one looks to be drie n rusty and the other looks to be black with carbon build up. I did read a thread where they where talking about the carbs not being sinked correctly and it could cause white smoke out of the exhaust, do to to much gas getting to one carb then the other. i took some pics so you can see the plugs.
I will try messing with my carbs tomorrow .
This is the right side that is smokin
