Hey guys,
Like most of y'all I had an issue with stripping out the screws on my engine while trying to change to new bolts. I search the different forums for various different ways to try and get them out. I tried easy outs which only seemed to bend or break off inside causing more of a problem. I tried to use a dremel to cut a new slot for a flat head and could not seem to get that to work as well. Thats when I went the route of drilling off the heads and discovered a way that I did not seem to find on the forums, could work well getting certain stripped screws out, and could help anyone that was stuck trying to think of ideas to get them out. If an idea like this has already been posted I am sorry for the repost.
I ended up getting a 7/32 titanium drill bit and would drill into the stripped screw until the head of a flat head was just a little bigger than the hole in the screw. I would position the flat head and tap it in with a rubber mallet and just unscrew the stripped bolt.
